Review – I like cookies, cakes, pies, basically anything with sugar! I also love the crispy rice. Therefore, when I had the opportunity to try some special anti-allergic gluten-free rice crackers from Blake’s Seed-Based, I thought for a long time before saying yes! Let’s see if I think they are yum or ick.
What is it?
Blake’s Seed-Based products are vegan, allergy-friendly, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, egg-free and nut-free. They sell 3 flavors of rice crackers and 3 flavors of seed bars. I received a box of their birthday cake rice crisp snacks.
Nutrition and taste

Each box of Blake’s Seed Birthday Cake Rice Crisp Snacks contains 6 individually packaged snacks. I am a bit confused about all the information on the packaging about them being gluten-free, nut-free, egg-free, soy-free, vegan, and dairy-free. This is because the main ingredients of traditional rice crisp snacks are rice crisp, marshmallow and butter. Rice is naturally gluten-free, and marshmallows are also gluten-free, soy, dairy products, etc. Then we have butter, well, damn… Butter is not vegan or dairy-free. So they took me there.

The complete list of ingredients and nutrients are shown above. Yes, there are no fake sweeteners or strange food colorings. Except for carnauba wax (isn’t it for cars?!), the ingredients look very clean.

As you can see above, each of Blake’s seed-based snacks is very small. You can also see colorful sprinkles, pumpkins, flax and sunflower seeds. So how do they taste? I am a big fan of homemade rice crispy snacks and find that these snacks taste a bit sweeter than the original snacks we make at home-at least for my taste buds. I like pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, but I don’t think they add too much to these foods. As far as I know, unless they are ground, flaxseeds can basically pass directly through your system. So I am not sure about the real benefits of adding them to these snacks.
what do I like
- Small size is good for controlling portion size, but they are small
- Suitable for people with allergies, but traditional rice crisp snacks do not contain nuts or gluten
What will i change
- Add more pumpkin and sunflower seeds
- Reduce the price per box
Final thoughts
First of all, I think that when you buy through Amazon, the price is higher than the value based on the size of each snack, which is $1.67 per snack. If you buy directly from Blake’s Seed-Based website, you must purchase 3 boxes of snacks for $0.99 each. It still seems a bit expensive for two bites of food.
These snacks are delicious, and I will definitely eat the rest of the snacks sent to me. But to be honest, I prefer homemade rice crackers with only rice crisp. However, I am not a vegetarian, so I use butter to make mine. Therefore, in this regard, Blake’s Seed-Based Rice Crisp Snacks are a substitute for those who want rice crisp snacks but do not eat animal products.
