The British authorities have managed to rescue 67 people who tried to cross the English Channel on Christmas Day.
After the incident involving the two small boats, border guard agents took a group of people to Dover, Kent, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
French authorities also intercepted a ship on the same day. It is not clear how many people are on the third ship.
Attorney General Tom Pursglove said people should not try to cross the English Channel, but should apply for asylum in the first safe country they reach.
He said the government is reforming its method People crossing the strait Nationality and Border Act.
“The public has been calling for reforms for two decades, and this is what the current government has achieved through our new immigration program,” he said.
“The Nationality and Borders Act criminalizes intentionally arriving in the UK illegally and imposes life imprisonment on those who facilitate illegal entry.
“It will also strengthen the powers of border guards to intercept and redirect ships, while introducing new powers to expel asylum seekers in order to process their applications outside the UK.”
The picture taken by the Pennsylvania News Agency shows that the British agency brought the group in before 1:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.
They huddled in white blankets and wore blue surgical masks.
