Review – I used to dream of creating the perfect kit. In those dreams, I want a bag that can grow from small to large according to the items I need to carry with me. The large size is suitable for travel, and the slim size is suitable for daily commuting. I contacted several popular bag manufacturers to see if they are interested in cooperating. A company seemed to be really interested, and then sneered at me and stopped replying to my emails. I realized that my dream of creating my own kit didn’t mean… until I stumbled upon BrightLine Bags and their incredible modular Flex System. Have all my dreams come true? Let’s take a look and find out.
what is it?
BrightLine Bags Flex System is a set of bag components that can be zippered together to form a Gear bag Configure exactly the way you want. These bags were originally designed for pilots, but anyone can buy them, including gadgets like ours!
What’s in the box?
BrightLine Bags sent me a set of components so that I can have a good understanding of how the Flex system works and its potential. What you see above is not all the components provided by BrightLine Bags, this is just a small collection, but this is what they sent me:
- Pocket cap front
- Rear of flat cap
- Central area two
- Central Fifth District
- Side pocket foxtrot
- Side pocket echo
- Array backplane
- Flex array kit
- Main handle
- Shoulder strap
Design and features
BrightLine Bags Flex System components are made of black canvas with heavy-duty zippers with color-coded zipper pulls.
The idea is that you choose a front and packaging “hat”, and then the middle part to create a bag with the storage size you need.
The components are connected to each other by a zipper.
It is up to you to decide which components and the order in which to connect them.
These are all the components sent to me by BrightLine Bags. I like the bag to stand upright without tipping over.
I also like the protective feet at the bottom of the larger central part.

Final thoughts
As I said at the beginning, I always dreamed of being able to create my own modular gear bag system, but with the BrightLine Bags Flex system, this dream was shattered-but in a good way.
