Tips for the Best Cauliflower Fried Rice

Tips for the Best Cauliflower Fried Rice

Here are my top tips for getting the perfect texture and flavor in your cauliflower fried rice:

  • Do not cover the pot. This will cause the cauliflower to be steamed instead of fried and will ruin the texture of the cauliflower fried rice.
  • Don’t overcook. This dish cooks so fast! Overcooking the cauliflower rice will turn it into mushy form and release excess moisture, affecting the overall texture and flavor.
  • Finally add coconut aminos and sesame oil. Adding the amino acids at the end prevents the cauliflower from absorbing too many of them and making it too mushy. Sesame oil must also be added after cooking because it has a low smoke point.

Storage instructions

  • Shop: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
  • Meal Preparation: Crush the cauliflower ahead of time, place in an airtight container, and freeze or refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Reheat: Sauté the cauliflower rice in a hot skillet for best results, but the microwave will work in a pinch.
  • freeze: Divide into airtight containers or zip-top bags, remove excess air, and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Use chopsticks to serve the cauliflower fried rice in bowls.
