The CDC has released statistics on the plight of children hospitalized with COVID-19.
In the past year and a half, there has been no hotter topic than the coronavirus.
Fierce controversy broke out online, school board meetings became tense, store confrontations became ugly, and social media users were censored.
At the center of many struggles: American Approximately 73 million children.
So, what are the true numbers that the pandemic and the young generations of the United States care about?
On Friday, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), it illuminates the situation.
The report breaks down the COVID data from August 2020 to August 2021.
For hospital information, the agency used the BD Insights Research Database (BDIRD), which covers 260 medical centers.
The analysis revealed that 1,790 patients under the age of 18 were hospitalized in 140 care centers.

The median length of stay during the entire period is 2 to 3 days. Between August 2020 and June 2021, the percentage of hospitalizations leading to ICU admission was between 10% and 25%; the percentages in July and August 2021 were 20% and 18%, respectively.
As for the incidence of ventilators, “ranging from 0% to 3%, the highest in October 2020.”
In the past two months, the age composition of the 63 Americans aged 17 and under who have been admitted to the ICU is as follows:
0-4 years old = 17 (27%)
5-11 years old = 17 (27%)
12-17 years old = 29 (46%)
What is the mortality rate of hospitalized children?
Over a period of up to one year, there were 8 deaths “related to COVID-19” among minors in the hospitals studied.
This constitutes a 0.4% mortality rate among hospital admissions.
Of course, this is not the first time that the CDC has reported a high COVID survival rate for people under 18 years of age.

But in January, a study by the American Academy of Pediatrics showed that the spread of the virus in schools is “Extremely rare. “

What needs to be clarified is the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations for children under 18 from June to August 2021 Increase.
