Review – If you have never used an immersion blender, you don’t know what you missed. Being able to mix smoothies in a glass or smash potatoes directly in a pot without soiling another bowl can save time. However, the immersion blender is a one-trick pony. ChefWave believes that they should be able to do more and introduced the InterMix immersion blender to do just that. Let’s start mixing!

What is it?

The ChefWave InterMix Immersion Blender is an immersion blender that can also be blended and chopped.

Design and features

The blender is well made, and the handle is made of brushed metal and black plastic. The curved back is perfect for the hands, and the control of the two buttons naturally falls under your fingers. Like other immersion blenders I have seen, the buttons are momentary, which means you can press them to turn them on and release them. These mixers are not meant to run continuously, but more often in pulse mode. The working cycle of the mixer is a rest period of three minutes or less. The top button is the pulse button. The bottom button, which is also a pulse button, is a turbo button that calls the maximum speed.

After inserting the blender, the blue LED will light up the button.

At the top, we see the dial that allows you to change the speed of the mixer.

set up

The setup includes connecting the accessories of your choice and mixing them. There are coarse threads on the end of the mixer to tighten the accessories and lock them in place.

Each accessory has matching threads and a small connection point, and the motor engages with any rotation on the accessory.

The immersion wand is fully assembled and contains a very sharp blade. The bottom of the wand is metal, and the edges are quite sharp, which can cause some damage to your pot or other mixing container. ChefWave includes two perfectly fitting silicone sleeves to solve this problem.

Here we see two wands with sleeves.

For most immersion blenders, the smaller wand is very typical. If you are mixing something, maybe in a deep soup pot, the larger one will give you some extra influence.

The stirrer snaps into its connecting ring.

The size of the whisk can be used with the included 20-ounce beaker.

Another good addition is a food chopper.

This three-piece accessory includes the top, blade and bowl attached to the mixer.

After assembly, it can stand on its own easily.

Performance

All the cool accessories are great, but is it useful? My lovely wife is making a key lime cheesecake and needs some graham cracker crumbs. perfect! I put a pile in the shredder and started shredding.

It makes the working time of the biscuits short and crushes them well.

Next, she asked me to take out a few lumps of sugar from the humid environment in central Florida. It seems like a good idea-I will throw a few small pieces in the chopper to let it do its magic and restore the sugar to its granular state. I put them in, closed the lid, and pressed the button. There is a *slap* and then, even though the motor is running, the chopped ones do not rotate. what happened?

I unscrewed the cutter from the handle and it all fell off.

These two pieces are integrated shafts that previously slid on the motor. The end of the shaft engages with the specific tool you connect to the blender. What happened was that a particularly hard candy was sandwiched between the blade and the bowl, and the high-torque motor simply folds the plastic sheet in half directly. After I did this, I checked the manual more closely, which warned against trying to chop very hard things, such as ice cubes and very hard nuts. Oh! Although the sugar doesn’t look difficult, a large piece of it is actually very hard. It’s totally my fault. Fortunately for me, the friendly folks at ChefWave sent an alternative. So please be aware of this-this is not designed for heavy choppers. Leave it to the food processor!

A few days later, waffles appeared on the morning menu. My wife likes to add whipped egg whites to increase the volume of the waffles. Sounds like an opportunity to whisk!

Soon, we have stiff, pointed egg whites. OK!

A few days later, she boiled a big pot of potato soup. According to records, it also includes sausages and smoked salmon, which is delicious. After the cream base is prepared, you can put the cooked potato pieces into it and mix them.

The immersion wand is well done and can produce mashed potatoes that blend perfectly into the broth. After that, we poured more potatoes and then stirred the mixer a few times. This gives small potato chips and adds texture to the soup. Um. After the silicone sleeve is in place, we don’t have to worry about damaging the non-stick coating of the pot.

To clean the immersion wand, you need to fill the bowl with water and turn the wand in the bowl. The high-speed blade forces water throughout the inside of the wand for easy cleaning. Everything else is also easy to clean up.

what do I like

  • Wide variety of accessories
  • Variable speed
  • Comfortable to hold

What will i change

  • Although the manual says not to mix difficult things, I will make this warning more prominent and maybe strengthen the driving mechanism

Final thoughts

This is a good immersion blender. It is easier to use for mixing than a traditional hand mixer and easier to chop than a food processor. I see this gets a lot of use in our kitchen.
