Review – In the nearly 24 years since Gadgeteer was launched, I have reviewed 1,000 products. Of these products, I can say that not many have changed my life. Okay, this sounds a bit dramatic. But it is true that there are some products that actually make my life better. One product is a robotic vacuum cleaner, and the latest is the ChefWave Milkmade non-dairy milk machine. What the hell are you asking? Let me show it to you.
what is it?
ChefWave Milkmade non-dairy milk machine is just what the name suggests. It is a kitchen utensil that can be placed on your work surface, allowing you to quickly make non-dairy milk using nuts or grains.

Design and features
ChefWave Milkmade is a countertop device, so this means you need to leave some space on the counter for it to survive. You may not want to hide it in a cabinet because you will use it often. Think of it as a coffee machine, and when they noticed it on my counter, it was actually what a relative thought.
ChefWave Milkmade has an attractive white plastic shell that can be integrated with almost any kitchen decoration.
The device is not big, but it does require at least 13.6 x 6.5 x 12.8 inches of space on your countertop. It also needs some space because it has a steam valve. But it will be described in detail later.
As far as the parts are concerned, there is a glass tank, a plastic waste basin and a reservoir.
The glass pitcher is made of thick glass with a steel button embedded at the bottom, which makes it easy to accurately position the pitcher at the desired position on the ChefWave Milkmade base. The top of the water tank is made of plastic, which is detachable for easy cleaning.
The water tank is located on the back of the device.
The water tank is easily removed and filled with water. It has a capacity of 20 ounces, which is the largest amount of non-diary milk that ChefWave Milkmade can produce at one time. The minimum amount of milk you can make is 10 ounces.
At the top of ChefWave Milkmade, you will find the grinding compartment and display panel.
The grinding chamber has a transparent glass with a steam cover on it.
The steam cover has a silicone plug that can be pulled out for easy cleaning.
There are 4 grinding blades and a tap in the grinding compartment.
Let’s make some non-diary milk!
What non-dairy milk can you make with ChefWave Milkmade? Almond milk, cashew milk, soy milk, walnut milk, oat milk, coconut milk, there may be others that have not yet been thought of. But these are the nuts and grains listed in the small recipe that came with the device.
I ordered some organic roasted almonds from Amazon for my first test of Milkmade.
The great thing about ChefWave Milkmade is that you don’t need to soak nuts or grains before making milk. This means that making milk is very simple and quick. All you have to do is fill the reservoir on the back of Milkmade with normal water, then pour 1-2 tablespoons of nuts or oats into the grinding compartment according to the amount of milk you want to make and close the lid.
Then you plug in the device and use the touch button to select the volume and type of milk you want to make. If you want to delay the start, you can also set a timer. Then press the start button, and in less than 15 minutes, you will have fresh non-dairy milk!
After drinking the milk, Milkmade uses the remaining water in the reservoir to clean itself and deposit the dirty water in the waste water tank.
If you are very busy and forget to remove the jug after placing the milk, don’t worry. If you fail to remove it, the automatic cleaning session will not put dirty water into the pitcher. ChefWave Milkmade is smarter than this. The faucet rotates to deposit dirty water into the waste water tank.
Once the cleaning is complete, the waste water is the only thing you need to empty. No pulp can be cleaned remotely, and there is nothing to clean except to check the steam valve to see if there are any residues in it. This happened to me only once when I made milk with steel cut oats. But in order to be clean, I rinse it at least once a week.
There is also a note in the manual that you need to descale by adding some vinegar to the water tank and manually selecting the cleaning option. This is important if you happen to have hard water in your area.

ChefWave Milkmade is easy to use, but how does the non-dairy milk taste?
My first test of Milkmade was to use roasted unsalted almonds that I bought from Amazon. To repeat, you don’t have to soak the nuts or oats before making the milk. In fact, the recipe book/instructions specifically tell you not to soak.
The almond milk turned out very well, it only contained a tablespoon of whole roasted unsalted almonds and water, but after the milk was made, I added a pinch of sea salt and a little stevia to sweeten it a bit. The milk is smooth, without any unground nut pieces.
In my next test, I used steel-cut oats and it worked well. But it should be noted that oat milk will thicken a lot after putting it in the refrigerator.
Then I tried half almonds and half pistachios, then I tried half almonds and half cashews. All combinations work well.
I even decided to try soy milk. I ordered a bag of organic soybeans through Amazon and you can see the result below.
Another winner! Making non-dairy milk is so fun and fast that I have been trying to come up with other ideas and combinations to try.
what do I like

Final thoughts
I like ChefWave Milkmade very much and it will be added to my Julie’s Favorite Gear page in the next update. Now it is my favorite “gadget”. It is well-made and easy to use, allowing me to make non-dairy milk with only the ingredients I want, and I can make a fresh batch of milk in a few minutes without messy cleanup. Thank you ChefWave for designing such an excellent kitchen appliance.
