In the social media storm, some people defended Cheryl.
They wrote: “You don’t have to be black to enjoy RNB music, and you don’t have to let RNB music talk about your love for it.”

A BBC spokesperson told The Standard: “In our extensive music output, we have a wide range of voices across different genres. Many of our programs are hosted by expert DJs in their fields, and other programs are passionate about their themes. The person presided over.
