The new information this morning further proves this statement, CNN report Pelosi is “considering” naming Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) as the committee:

“I mean, there are some members who are willing to participate,” Pelosi added. “But we will see.”
Mississippi Democratic Rep. Benny Thompson, who was appointed chairman of the new committee, said Thursday that he had discussed with the spokesperson the issue of adding Kinsinger to the group. Thompson said that if Pelosi withdrew, Kingsinger would be a “welcome addition.”

The news that Pelosi was considering making Kingsinger a member of the committee triggered some obscene remarks by CNN’s White House reporter John Harwood. He said on the Twitter machine that although Kingsinger and Cheney were in the Republican Party. Think of them as “outcasts”, but “they are still Republicans.” In his view, if he sits down, the committee will be “more bipartisan”:

Contrary to what he wants you to believe, Harwood himself is a partisan actor in all this, and he will not praise anything that he thinks is harmful to the narrative and goals of the Democratic Party. Although I am sure this was unintentional, his tweet was an accidental admission that his network realized that this committee was designed as a crazy one-sided incident.
