Cologne suspected of wounded in blowpipe attack | Germany

According to the police, three people in Cologne, Germany were injured after being aimed at by darts that may have been fired from a blowgun.

On Monday morning, a builder, a passerby, and an employee of the Cologne Public Transport Authority (KVB) were hit by darts at Barbarossaplatz, a busy transportation hub in the western city.

The darts were several centimeters long, but none of the victims were seriously injured.

“We currently speculate that these homemade darts were probably shot with a blowgun,” a police spokesperson told the local newspaper Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.

The police have conducted a criminal investigation of an unidentified person, charged with serious bodily harm.

The police were called to Barbarossaplatz at 7:30 in the morning to a construction site on the square, where all the victims were injured. They found these weapons lying on the ground, but did not specify how many, or how they were made, or what they were made of.

The police said they were assuming that the victim was chosen by accident and were looking for more than one perpetrator, which they called “at large.” They urged witnesses to provide any information.
