Columbia Climate Institute Postdoctoral Research Program Now Accepting Applications for 2024
The Columbia Climatology Institute Postdoctoral Research Program is now seeking applications from innovative doctoral students or recent PhD, MD, JD, or Sc. Award recipients (within five years of earning their degree) interested in broad issues of sustainability can join the fall 2024 cohort. The application deadline is November 1, 2023.
this Columbia Climatology Institute Postdoctoral Research Program is the world’s premier program for those working to better understand climate-related science and key scientific and social issues in global sustainable development. The program provides academics with the opportunity to acquire and apply the interdisciplinary expertise needed to address key sustainability issues such as artificial intelligence and climate, carbon management, climate finance and risk, coastal viability, disaster resilience, energy storage, climate changes etc. Environmental justice and the food transition.
The program provides a unique intellectual environment that promotes interdisciplinary interaction, research and education.Postdoctoral researcher from the School of Climate Science joins multidisciplinary team Made up of distinguished, committed scientists from the Earth Institute and Columbia University. Candidates who developed interdisciplinary approaches during graduate studies or are interested in developing interdisciplinary approaches during postdoctoral training will find ample opportunities to participate in projects at the forefront of sustainability research.
Application requirements
Candidates must complete Apply online and submit a research proposal that contributes to global sustainable development. Candidates may propose contributions to existing climate schools projects, scaling them up, or developing new projects integrating schools’ expertise.
In addition to submitting applications and proposals, candidates are strongly encouraged to identify and contact their desired multidisciplinary mentoring team, ie. Application deadline is November 1, 2023. The program will launch in the fall of 2024 and run for 24 months.
The program is open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. All doctoral degree requirements must be met and the degree awarded within five years prior to appointment.
