Comfortable and Sustainable Sweater for Fall

I know it’s not technically Fell down, but it’s hard not to get excited about it. We’ve had such incredible weather in Vermont and the foliage has started to change (also because it’s such a dry summer). Fall fashion is my favorite Sweaters are an important part of that. Wear it with a comfortable sweater whether it’s paired with jeans, pants or a dress. Whether you prefer cotton, cashmere, wool, or something with recycled materials, I’ve rounded up some comfortable and sustainable sweaters made from sustainable materials for fall. If you live in a warm climate but want to wear sweater weather Sézane Leontin sweater is a good choice. It’s made from 100% organic cotton and has balloon sleeves and a button fly. This one is slightly cropped, so I went for a medium size. It’s not too heavy for those warm days.you can see it in style here.

Christy Dawn 100% baby alpaca sweater This is the dream of a chunky knitted sweater. It has hand-embroidered details, a ribbed waist and sleeves, and a chunky fold-over neckline. This sweater fits perfectly, so choose a plus size for an oversized fit.

Eileen Fisher cashmere and silk turtleneck top

I have This cashmere/silk blend sweater Last year, I lived in it. Definitely a portfolio, but you’ll have it for years to come. It’s super soft, slightly boxy, and has nubuck trim on the sleeves, hem and neck. Incredibly warm and comfortable, you won’t want to take this off.

One of my favorite styles of cozy sweaters is paired with denim like straight jeans and booties. So simple and minimal effort, yet comfortable and chic. For something suitable for work, try pants and flats (My Favorite Loafers) over a sweater under a blazer or jacket. I also like to wear a large comfortable sweater over my skirt (this midi slip dress Great for layering). Here are some additional ideas for comfy sweaters this fall.

Keep it monochrome.

Pair a comfy sweater with a similar shade, like the tan sweater below with white pants and tan clogs, or this green sweater with dark green wide-leg pants and sneakers.

Pair with jeans.

There are plenty of ways to wear a comfy sweater and jeans, but some of my favorites are either tucked in with straight legs and booties. I also like the loose fit over skinny jeans or half pleats with flats and skinny or straight jeans.
