review – If you’ve ever had back pain, you know that heating pads can help relieve pain. But most heating pads are small and may not be large enough to cover the entire back injury area. The Comfytemp Weighted Heating Pad does not fall into this category because the heating pad is large. let’s see.

What is it?

The Comfytech Weighted Heating Pad is a large electric heating pad designed to relieve neck, shoulder and back muscle soreness.

Design and Features

The Comfytemp weighted heating pad is bigger than any heating pad I’ve seen or used before. It measures 22 x 33 inches and weighs 2.2 pounds.

The inside of the heating pad is a soft creamy plush material.

The outside of the heating pad is equally soft. The whole thing is soft and feels like a kid’s stuffed toy.

You can see me “wearing” the Comfytech weighted heating pad in the image above. For reference, I’m 5’6″ and 124 pounds. You’ll also notice that you can use straps to tie the heating pad around your waist.

There’s a wide neck collar with shoulder straps and something that feels like a beanie…like a beanie baby stuffed toy. This is the only weighted part of the heating pad. If you’re wondering why part of this heating pad is weighted, this feature should help provide stress to your body to temporarily relieve anxiety and help you relax. I personally don’t feel the weight of the straps.

The neck strap has a small snap that you can use to snap the Comfytech Weighted Heating Pad around your neck like a shawl, so that the neck and shoulder area of the heating pad stays in place.

The Comfytemp weighted heating pad has a detachable 9.5-foot power cord and a built-in controller.

Using an inline controller is very simple. It has a button that toggles low, medium and high settings and powers the heating pad on and off. There’s also a built-in 2-hour auto-off feature that automatically turns off the heating pad once it’s been on for 2 hours.

I tested the Comfytemp Weighted Heating Pad, and I did important other tests as well. I don’t use a heating pad on a regular basis, but she uses one every day because she has chronic issues with back pain.

My thoughts on using this heating pad: I find it soft and comfortable. It heats up relatively quickly, and I mostly felt the heat around the back of my neck, shoulders, and upper back. I don’t have that strong feeling in my lower back. While using the Comfytemp weighted heating pad, I found myself wanting a way to selectively turn off certain areas like my neck and shoulders because even on low settings it made me feel hot like I had hot flashes 😉

Jenny’s thoughts on using this heating pad: She loves everything about the Comfytemp weighted heating pad. She agreed with me that weighted straps weren’t obvious and didn’t even realize they were until I pointed it out and asked her what she thought of them. However, she disagreed with the need to select zones to customize heating zones. She likes that the entire pad is heated all the time. Go figure 😉 Although I still like the idea of heating my area so I’m sticking with it. 🙂

what do I like

  • Large size
  • soft cover
  • washable

what would i change

  • It would be nice if there were zone buttons to individually select the neck, shoulder and back zones.

final thoughts

The Comfytech Weighted Heating Pad is a well-made heating pad that is very easy to use and sized to cover the entire back, including the neck and shoulders. If you need a large heating pad, this one can meet that requirement without breaking the bank.
