A school board in Virginia will not get along.
The Commonwealth announced Model Policy for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia Public Schools, The guidance makes things very clear.
“The Ministry of Education,” it said, “should formulate and provide each school board with a model policy on handling transgender students in public primary and secondary schools to solve common problems…”
This is “according to evidence-based best practice”.
Notes listed:
- Comply with applicable non-discrimination laws
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment free of discrimination and harassment for all students
- Prevent and respond to bullying and harassment
- Maintain student records
- Student ID
- Protect student privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Implement gender-based dress codes; 8. Students participate in gender-specific school activities, events, and use school facilities.
The manual lists a series of sexual identity terms such as “cisgender”, “gender distribution” and “gender expansion/gender diversity/gender mobility/gender non-binary/gender/gender queer”.
As mentioned earlier, all public schools must “adopt a policy that is consistent with the model policy developed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) but may be more comprehensive.”
So what is the conclusion of the department?
Brass nails, about access:
All students have the right to use sanitary, safe and adequate toilets, changing rooms and changing rooms so that they can comfortably and fully participate in school courses and activities. Schools often provide separate toilets, changing rooms or other facilities for men and women. Students should be allowed to use facilities that correspond to the gender identity they have always advocated.
Under “student status”:
The school department should Accept students’ assertions about their gender identity without any specific evidence, Including diagnosis, treatment or legal documents.
We’ve come a long way: just a few decades ago, Hollywood was making images Pork with electric shock! — Rated-R delves into the fantasies of male adolescents about entering a girl’s shower room.
As Virginia’s “best practices” have shown, it can now be achieved through absolute consistency of assertions.
But one county in one state Is not a lot of A known Resolutely opposed to right-wing moves: Russell County School Board Unanimous vote The VDOE policy was rejected last week.
each WCYB, “The board members said that it is their job to protect all students, and they believe that the school district has complied with the federal anti-discrimination law.”
Close behind is PJ Media call “Anger comes from [the] community. “
A resident at the meeting, as quoted by the organization Washington Examiner:
“We don’t hate transgender people. We don’t hate homosexuals. We don’t judge them. God will judge them. We hate the sins they live in. This is the problem we face in the community today. [it is] Try to impose on all our children. “
Pass the statement News 5, Bob Gibson, a member of the school board, said:
“I was elected by the people of this community, and I intend to stand up to protect every child and fulfill the wishes of the people of Russell County-not the wishes of an over-expanded state government. The most important thing we can do is Protect every child and provide them with a safe and reliable place to study.”
Found Freedoms Law Center Attorney Josh Hetzler Step onto the podium:
“These policies themselves violate various state and federal laws, including violations of a number of basic rights of students, parents, and teachers. Because these model policies are legally problematic, not to mention the physical, privacy, and safety of students in private spaces. And the possibility of dignity causing tangible harm, [the] The school board simply cannot adopt policies that are consistent with the existing model policies. “
each Examiner, VDOE is unmoved:
The Virginia Department of Education hinted that the school board’s actions might violate the law.
The board of directors sent an email to the outlet via email, stating: “The local school board has the responsibility to abide by the law.”
On the 12th, Rockingham County parents speak out as well as.
A man sends a signal to science:
“In biology, science—when a child is born as a male, he will never become a female biologically or scientifically. This is the truth. When a girl is born as a girl, she can never be in biology. Become a boy in school or science….you can argue about it. You can yell about it. You can make a fuss. You can do whatever you want, but that’s the truth.”
A mother threatened to pull her child:
“My son will not go to school in Rockingham County. If this policy is adopted, I will choose to let him go to homeschool. Homeschooling is not easy because I believe it will be very difficult financially, but I will stick to it. The right way.”
Virginia is a small view of what is happening across the country.
As I said before, we are in the midst of a cultural revolution.
But revolution usually comes from war. Millions of Americans are not eager to change.
I can’t help thinking that this country is moving towards a more controversial era.
As the saying goes, before it gets better, it will get worse.
Maybe it’s worse.
stay tuned…
