DDeutsche Telekom’s US subsidiary has clearly become the target of major hacker attacks.The technology portal Motherboard reported that hackers stole the data of more than 100 million customers of the mobile phone company T mobile Has been captured.
Motherboard stated that it had talked with hackers in an online chat. The attackers claimed that they had “complete customer information,” including name, address, phone number, social security number, driver’s license details, and mobile phone identification number. According to its own introduction, the publication has seen samples of these data and verified its authenticity.
Need six bitcoins
Hackers had previously sold personal data on an online forum, but did not initially indicate that this was information from T-Mobile. For a data set containing 30 million social security numbers and driver’s license data, 6 bitcoins or currently approximately 285,000 USD are required.
The hacker told the publication that T-Mobile had apparently discovered the attack and blocked access to its computer system. The attacker will download the captured data in advance and save it multiple times. T-Mobile initially only announced that it was aware of allegations of data theft in online forums and was investigating them.
