For the price, the Edifier TWS NB2 Pro is impeccable. They look good, they sound good, the battery is long, and the ANC is pretty effective. They have very few earbuds under £80 to compete with,

I reviewed Edifier TWS NB A few years ago, I was very impressed. My main criticism is how ugly they are.
Edifier is now back with the TWS NB2 Pro, which has been completely redesigned into something sleeker. They are also cheaper than the original TWS NB, but are they just as good?

Design and Fit
The Edifier must have taken the criticism of the original TWS NB design to heart. NB2 has been completely redesigned and now has a more advanced design.
I received the white/cream buds and they look way more expensive than they are.
The fit is great and I have used them for walking, running and lifting weights without feeling like they would fall off. Everyone’s ear anatomy is different, but I’d say the Edifier 330NB fits my ears better. The chunky earphones fit snugly in my ears. Still, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
The previous generation didn’t have an IP rating, which feels like a major omission considering most earbuds now have an IP rating. Thankfully, the TWS NB2 Pros are IP54 rated, which means you can safely use them at the gym or while out running without worrying about them dying.
sound quality
Sound quality is good, with a typical mainstream-friendly bass-forward sound profile.
The sound profile is not like Edifier 330 NB I commented recently, and instead offered something more natural.
Mids sound good, and vocals are clear. The treble doesn’t roll off as much, it’s brighter and more detailed, but it’s a bit sharp on some tracks.
Sadly, there’s no EQ in the companion app, so you can’t tweak the audio to your liking like other brands. There is an option for surround/spatial audio and gaming.
Spatial audio is great for TV and movies, giving you a wider soundstage and a fuzzy perception of surround sound. I’m not that keen on music because it adds an echo element to the sound.
Game Mode is designed to reduce audio latency claimed to be as low as 80ms. However, earbuds are limited to AAC or SBC, so you won’t get the same latency benefits as AptX Adaptive or LL. I personally didn’t notice much of a difference, but I don’t play games on my phone very often, so I don’t think I’m too sensitive to these subtle differences.
Noise reduction
Noise reduction is pretty good. I took the original TWS NB out of the drawer and I’d say the noise reduction is slightly improved.
Using my normal cabin noise video on YouTube, my speakers are turned up. The NB2 Pro manages to cut down quite a bit of the low end. However, they kept most of the high-end stuff.switch to mine Soundcore Liberty 3 Prothey also eliminate most of the low end, but also significantly reduce the volume on the highs.
I would say that the performance of the ANC is similar to the Edifier TWS 330 NB.
When I reviewed the original model, it was impressive that ANC was fully included, so whatever noise-cancelling it offered was impressive. Since then, many ANC earbuds have been launched for around £100. Some of them offer impressive ANC performance.I would say earless(1) Better noise cancellation for an extra £15.
Battery
Compared to the previous generation, battery life has improved, and the earbuds now last 7 hours with ANC on, and an additional 18 hours from the charging case.
During my testing, I didn’t fully drain them between charges. I probably use them for about 4 hours at most, and when I put them back in the case, they still have a lot of battery left.
Price and Alternatives
The Edifier TWS NB2 Pro is just £80 on Amazon. At the time of writing, there’s also a 30% off coupon on the page, bringing the price down to £48. Check out Keepa, they are often discounted to under £60.
The older Edifier TWS NB has an MSRP of £100, but is usually sold at a higher price.
With an MSRP of £60, the Edifier TWS 330 NB offers good performance by comparison, but with a much shorter battery.
Nothing Ear (1) currently sells for around £95.
The Lypertek PurePlay Z5 and the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro are both excellent ANC earbuds, but they are a bit more expensive at around £110-£120.
comprehensive
Edifier consistently produces quality products for their respective price points. The Edifier TWS NB2 Pro continues this tradition. For just £80, you can get a surprising number of earbud features. The overall quality is also very good, they look good, they sound good, and the ANC works.
In my opinion, the new lower price is a wise decision. The £100 price point has become very competitive over the past few years. There aren’t many better earbuds for £80 than these. With prices often dropping to around £50-60, they are definitely a bargain.
