metropolis police officer He was sentenced to more than two years in prison for assaulting his partner in a coercive and controlling relationship, and he tried to cover up his crime with “rough sexual behavior”.
At the end of their 10-month relationship, 27-year-old Jamie Rayner repeatedly suppressed and strangled Bonnie Hudson, a police colleague.
The last straw came. Reina, a PC in Metropolis, kicked his partner-causing bruises and bleeding lips-and slammed the door on her stomach, leaving her on the floor. She burst into tears.
When Ms. Hudson told her colleagues of the abuse, Rayner threatened to make false accusations against her and suggested that she attribute her injuries to “rough sexual behavior.” Croydon Crown Court Hear.
Rayner initially denied these allegations, but admitted on October 6 that the attack caused actual physical harm and participated in controlling or coercive behavior.
On Friday, Judge Elizabeth Lowe sentenced him to two years and three months in prison.
“PC Rayner’s behavior is completely unacceptable, and it falls far short of our expectations of the organization. In addition, this shocking behavior undermines public confidence and trust,” said Bromley, Croy Said Dave Stringer, Chief Superintendent of Den and Sutton Police.
“No one should suspect that my officials and I are fully committed to investigating cases of control and coercive behavior, and in this case, professional support will be provided to those who stand up to report such crimes.
“I have no doubt that coming forward may be difficult or frightening, but I hope anyone who has experienced this will know that we will take your report seriously and do our best to help.
“All of us in the metropolis know that we need to continue to build public confidence in this area, and we will handle issues involving the police in a strong and transparent manner through the criminal and misconduct route.”
In February and March of this year, when they moved into their apartment, PC Rayner, a member of the Southern Command, abused and violently abused his partner.
As the relationship deteriorated, he pressed her to the bed and pinched her throat, making her breathing hard.
When Ms. Hudson complained, it is understood that Renner claimed that he had been defending himself and threatened to make false accusations against her.
In the last incident, on March 19, Reina pressed her under her body and stepped her foot on his partner’s belly, then grabbed her mobile phone.
He repeatedly hit her on the thigh and her arm, and then trapped her with the bathroom door when she tried to retrieve the phone.
Reina was suspended after the allegations came to light. He said in an interview that he “will not comment” and hinted that he would defend these allegations when he first appeared in court.
However, when the case reached the Royal Court, he changed his plea to guilty.
After the misconduct lawsuit, Reina is likely to be fired by the Met. According to a restraining order, he was barred from contacting Ms. Hudson for the next ten years.
