French police demand dental records of a missing British hiker Possible human remains found in the Pyrenees, The woman’s mother said.
37-year-old Esther Dingley has been walking alone in the mountains near the border between Spain and France, and last appeared on November 22.
Her 74-year-old mother, Ria Bryant, moved to the Pyrenees in June to help find Dingley. She told the Sunday Times: “The dentist is sending a scan of Este’s teeth. We must send it to the consulate in Bordeaux.”
Bryant said she will also provide DNA samples to determine if the body is her daughter’s body.
“Nothing from her was found,” Bryant told the Sunday Times. “It is disturbing that it is not clear and certain.”
Earlier, the “Daily Mirror” reported that Spanish police sources said that “human bones” were found near the place where the Durham woman went missing on Friday.
The newspaper also quoted French police chief Jean Marc Bordinaro as saying: “We can’t say anything now because these bones were discovered too late and must be properly analyzed.”
The local radio station Huesca reported last week that two Spanish hikers found a long-haired skull in a boulder at the entrance to Port de la Glere in France.
The police searched the scene but did not find anything about Dingli, including her clothes, bright yellow tent and grey and red backpacks.
Dingley, an experienced climber, disappeared after sending a cheerful selfie on November 22, 2020 at the summit of Pico Salvaguardia in Spain.From there she has been planning to cross to France Before returning to the border via Port de la Glere.
