have David Keller’s videoI linked the In the Featured Links section, Title: “Reevaluate Your Process”.this really resonated with me His 3 questions are about routine. of course i recognize The importance of having a good routine and sticking to itwhich is why I created The routine part of SwingTradeBot. (here it is My original blog post on routine functionality.)

I also noticed that his questions about “what opportunities have I missed” are also the ones I address in my daily and weekly routine. Missing trades has been and will continue to be my biggest problem as a trader. I’ve come to terms with the fact that one can’t catch every big mover, but I still try to get better at as many executions as possible. This is indeed what prompted me to create the routine function – I don’t want to miss a deal that could have made me thousands if I remembered to run a specific scan!

David’s two questions are about Identify and analyze top and worst performers. These things also happen to be part of my weekly and daily routine.

i’ve been watching Top % Winners and Losers List See what’s moving (without me) and figure out if there’s a signal I’m missing. My daily life has a link Daily Mobile Percentage Scan. My weekly routine points to me “Over Time” Winners and Losers Scan Percentages. On the weekends, I usually check the 5-day move and the 30-day move.

So here’s a fun little exercise – look at the list of top 1-year percentage gainers (above is a screenshot of some) and ask yourself how many are there this year. Ask yourself why you miss other people. Are they even on your radar? (Do you need a new radar!?) Go back and look at the charts to see if they provide any good entry points, find out what signals/setups they give at those points, and find a way to catch those setups when they arise in the future.

I hope you all find these routines as useful as I do. Now is a good time to address these 10 questions and adjust your daily activities based on your self-analysis. Below are 10 questions.

  1. How will I evaluate my overall performance?
  2. What’s my best deal of the year? What can I learn from it?
  3. What’s my worst deal of the year? What can I learn from it?
  4. What opportunity did I miss?
  5. What is the best performer in my universe?
  6. What is the worst performer in my universe?
  7. How will I assess my daily activities?
  8. How can I improve my weekly routine?
  9. How can I improve my daily life?
  10. How do I feel about my answers to the first 9 questions?
