review – I don’t like my iPhone, but at the same time, I don’t want to scratch the display, so I use a screen protector. Screen protectors are a boring accessory, but they don’t have to be. Today I’d like to introduce you to a Glassie Smiley tempered glass screen protector that’s surprisingly not boring. let’s see.
What is it?
Glassie Smiley is a tempered glass screen protector for iPhone designed to protect your iPhone display. But Glassie protectors have interesting features that 99.9% of other screen protectors don’t. Glassie uses phantom ink technology embedded in glass to display images or text when the screen is off. Now you can choose the wavy smiley faces they send me, or positive text messages like “It’s a good day”, “Stop overthinking”, and more.

Install Glassie Smiley Screen Protector

Installing the Glassie Smiley Tempered Glass Screen Protector is no different from the process of installing other glass screen protectors. You’ll need to use the included alcohol wipes and polishing cloth to keep your phone’s display clean. If there is any tiny dust, you can use the included dust removal sticker.
The next step is to snap the mounting frame to the iPhone’s display.

The design of the plastic frame makes lining up the case on your phone simple and easy.

The next step in installing the Glassie Smiley Tempered Glass Screen Protector is to peel the protector off the plastic stand. The protective film protects the entire iPhone screen and has only a small cutout for the speaker.

All you have to do is set the protector inside the mounting frame, sticky side down (duh!), and it sticks almost directly to the screen. If there are air bubbles, you can use your fingers to slide the air bubbles out of the sides. I had an almost dime-sized bubble that didn’t slide out of the side, but when I checked the phone the next day, the bubble was gone.
Design and Features

The magic of Glassie happens when the phone’s display is turned off. You can then see a picture or message at the bottom of the display.

But don’t worry, because when you use your phone, the image will almost disappear.

If you’re a dark mode person like me, you’ll probably see images/text when the bottom edge of the screen is dark and the phone angle is just right, but honestly I rarely notice unless I’m really looking for it . Check out the picture above where you can see some pictures above the message icon.
Using the Glassie Smiley Tempered Glass Screen Protector on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, I had zero issues unlocking the phone with Face ID. Also, since the front-facing camera is covered by a screen protector, I’m happy to say that selfies and other photos have no issues using the camera. or a selfie photo.
The protector also has smooth, rounded black edges that make it look and feel like it doesn’t even exist.
what do I like
- unique and interesting
- Protect your iPhone display from everyday wear and tear
- easy to install
what would i change
- Add more options and the ability to order custom messages/art
final thoughts
Does the Glassie Smiley tempered glass screen protector protect your phone display better than other tempered glass screen protectors without magic smiley faces and messages? No. But installing Glassie Smiley Tempered Glass Screen Protector on your phone is definitely unique and more fun than other screen protectors.
