Review -As a mother of a teenager, I can tell you that gift-giving is getting trickier this holiday season. I have been looking for a smart gift or sock filler, and I think my child will be a winner. GoCube 2×2 takes all the fun of Rubik’s Cube and adds power to it with 21st century technology, which makes it an interesting gift for anyone who likes to solve problems and puzzles. My son already has a Rubik’s Cube, he likes it very much, but he hasn’t mastered it yet. I think he will like the extra features of GoCube 2×2, which may help him learn a skill or two.
What is it?
GoCube 2X2 is a bit like a simpler Rubik’s Cube, but with Bluetooth and apps. Instead of nine squares on each side, there are only four, which makes it easier to solve (but still very challenging), which is why having the app is so important (at least for me). In addition to helping you solve cubes, the app also provides challenges and tutorials to help you improve your cube solving skills.

What’s in the box?
GoCube 2×2 is cleverly packaged, which makes it fun to open. You will get a cube, a USB C cable for charging, and a small bag to hold the cube. It also includes some directions.

Settings and functions
GoCube 2X2 needs to pay part of the cost when it arrives, but I immediately plugged in my plug and downloaded and registered the app so that I can prepare for the urge to want a cube. The first step after connecting the cubes is to start the “academy”, where you will learn their symbology so that you can follow the prompts to move the cubes. The following courses include exercises to make movements faster and learning algorithms that can make you a better “little fat man”.
My first challenge was to shuffle the cube, and then I found that there is a way for the app to tell you how to move the cube to solve it, if you want to do it quickly. Because I want to give it as a Christmas gift. This is the first thing I want to do. It allows me to practice understanding their symbols. The app guides me through the action step by step, and if I don’t do it correctly, it will tell me. A series of video animations show the correct action.

It’s really simple, but once when I was in the middle, my cube was out of sync with the app (I thought maybe I moved the cube when the app was not open). The result is that the app thinks that what is in front of me is very different from the actual appearance of the cube. I didn’t even realize this until the app said that my cube should be “solved”, which is far from the truth. If this happens, there is a way to manually sync again in a fairly short period of time, and this is what I did. Then I proceed to solve it.

Once my cube is solved, I feel that I have mastered their symbols so that I can get the cube back to the solved state when I want, and I continue to explore some other games you can play with the cube. One is called “Cubeysizer”, which is a musical game in which each cube movement corresponds to a note. You can choose between piano, guitar drums and surprise sounds, and it will guide you through different songs, such as “Ode to Joy” and “Mary has a Little Lamb”. This is a cool way and a great way to practice reading symbols. However, I hope they will expand their music selection through updates, as there are currently only three songs that can be played, unless you make your own.

The other game is called “Simon”, which is very similar to the classic game you may be familiar with, except that you have to remember the movement of the cube instead of pressing the color panel. This is very challenging, you can take turns with other people to create fun for multiple people.

If you don’t like to take shortcuts and your goal is to learn how to solve the cube by yourself, there is a mode that can provide you with a “target” mode to achieve it, which is a step towards solving the cube. Once you have achieved this goal, a new goal will be proposed. If you encounter difficulties, you can seek tips, and a video explaining the basic principles of these actions and how to proceed will pop up.

Finally, there is a timed leaderboard. Since I have just started my cube (and because I am giving it away, I may never exceed my current level), I have not yet explored this part of the app, but I know if I have time this holiday season, I will Work hard in this area. There is also a timing mode in which you can track the time it takes to solve the puzzle yourself.
what do I like
- challenging
- Have a chance to learn how to solve it

What will i change
- I hope to see more games like Cubeysizer and Simon that allow you to interact with cubes in different ways.
- I want to provide more songs in Cubeysizer.
Final thoughts
I really like this puzzle. It absorbed the advantages of the original Rubik’s Cube and added more features, as well as a way to learn how to solve it in a logical way. I think many people will think it is too easy for adults when they see this cube, but I can assure you that unless you are already a cube expert, it will be challenging. However, if you are a cube expert, the company does make classic cubes.Reading Julie’s GoCube Connected Puzzle Cube slot game review.
