As the local economy continues to recover from the economic and financial impact of the pandemic, Filipinos are becoming more aware of their financial situation. The pandemic has pushed Filipinos to be more financially responsible and find better ways to manage their money for a better quality of life.
To further help promote sustainable financial behavior and financial literacy among Filipinos, the country’s leading consumer finance company Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), Manila Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and local independent media agency PraXis have signed an agreement to produce radio stations DZRH and Its sister stations across the archipelago are planned.
This daily two-minute radio program will discuss topics around basic financial literacy issues that every Filipino needs to know – saving money, managing a budget, financial options available, getting out of debt, raising money and starting a business. The radio show will also address digital transformation and financial fraud prevention.
This effort is in line with Home Credit’s thrust to support ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives by promoting financial inclusion in the country’s underserved sectors. This is also to support the government’s goal of reaching more Filipinos with financial literacy, especially among those in the informal sector.
“As most Filipinos are still struggling to emerge from the pandemic, the financial literacy radio program hopes to manage their hard-earned money and maintain overall financial health by helping them make sound decisions,” shared Ken Lerona, Head of Home Credit Philippines PR .

The morning radio programme aims to reach market vendors, farmers, fishermen, public transport drivers and security guards, among others. To effectively execute the program, HCPH and PraXis will collaborate to identify topics that will help address and illuminate Filipinos’ financial problems.

The Financial Literacy Program will begin airing on DZRH in June 2022, with prime time 4:00 am to 5:00 am.
