HThis is a wise and civilized movie Norway With two excellent actors; directed by Maria Sødahl, it is about love, sadness and intimacy, conceived with high creative standards. For me, however, it has never fully ignited the real passion or real anger that it seems to point to.
Andrea Bræin Hovig plays Anja, a successful choreographer with an international career, in collaboration with Tomas, Strand Skarsgard, And together they have a large and loving stepfamily. The previous Christmas, Anja’s lung cancer had been cured, but a year later, her brain metastasized and returned severely; she had to undergo surgery, but the prognosis was very poor.
However, it is painful that different doctors seem to have different hopes for Anja. She was told to emphasize this statistically insignificant hope when talking to her children, but it might just encourage everyone to indulge in magical thinking about the whole thing. Now Thomas says he wants to marry Anya before the operation. Should she get comfort and hope from it? Or is the planned wedding closer to a bizarre funeral, a gesture that actually emphasizes Thomas’ solemn belief that she is about to die, and his angry reluctance to marry her before then?
This is a valuable study of two people. Although their families are large, they are fully committed to their respective professions and may have overlooked their emotional lives: However, for me, there is something undisclosed in the show The thing is almost the last moment of sentimentality. But Horvig and Skarsgard are both very good.
