review – If you’re a regular on The Gadgeteer, you already know love Periodicals. But you may not know that I also love Indiana Jones movies and when they showed “The Holy Grail Diary,” these movies cemented my love of Diary Diaries. So when I saw an opportunity to buy a replica, I went out of my way to order one. Let’s see if the money is well spent or the money is running out.
What is it?
“The Holy Grail Diary” is a battered handwritten diary from the “Indiana Jones” and “Last Crusade” movies. This is the diary of the character Dr. Henry Jones, Sr, who has collected all his discoveries on the subject of the Holy Grail.

What’s in the box?
On the site where I ordered the Holy Grail Diary replica, it was advertised as a “stunning hand-bound replica”, pictured below.
But what I receive is this:
As you can see, the book looks brand new, not bound in leather, but a modern machine-bound book with a brown cover, with elastic straps securing the folded documents.
Maps, telegrams, and other documents (watch the video below to see all included documents).
The book itself has printed pages.
With sketches.
I remember some sketches from the movie.
There are also loose documents, papers, etc. in the book.
Then I noticed that the cover came off the book block!ah ah ah

I purchased this replica because I am a fan of Indiana Jones films and journals. I didn’t expect the book to be a perfect copy of a movie prop, but I wanted it to represent what was shown on the product page where I ordered it. But in fact, it’s not. The book they advertised was nothing like the one I received, and the truth is, it cracked within minutes of flipping through the pages.
Also note that their website says the book is made in and shipped from the US. This is not true. It was shipped from China, then repackaged and shipped from New Jersey via USPS. I know it was shipped from China because they gave me the tracking number when I asked about it a few weeks after I ordered it. It took me a whole month to receive it.
I emailed them pictures and complaints and they offered to reimburse me up to $8.wow…then after doing some additional googling, I noticed something that looked like an identical book Amazon Spend less money. I wish I saw that for the first time. If I buy a defective or unwanted product from Amazon, at least I can easily return it! Oh well…
