Listening to a speech at CPAC is scary, ridiculous, embarrassing, angry, and dangerous. Despite the COVID pandemic, turnout in the 2020 presidential election has reached a record high, and the incidence of fraud has also reached a record low. This reality led Joe Biden to win the presidency. The CPAC agenda is to pretend that Trump is still the president, whitewash the rebellion’s attempt to overthrow the legitimate election of the US president, and incite the radical demonization of the Democratic Party. This full room of Christians must have skipped the pages of the Bible that Jesus Christ said, “Love your neighbor as yourself and treat others as yourself.” Hypocrisy has become a defining feature of elected Republican officials and Republican voters. What defined Trump’s unethical behavior now defines a political party.

The unprecedented corruption of the Republican Party is destroying our democracy. There are more questions than answers about how to deal with this corruption attack on every aspect of American life. Those who believe that removing Trump from the political arena will start the recovery process in the United States are conflicted about how they want him to fall. Some of the wishes of the masses are dark and extreme. However, more modest exit plans include prison, public nervous breakdown, or the Republican party’s eventual abandonment of him. The most satisfying allegation that eliminates the possibility of him holding public office again is the state of Georgia accusing him of trying to steal the election. Ironically, it would be satisfactory for Trump to try to steal the right to vote and go to jail while supporting the “big lie.”
