Review – We recently reviewed many power stations at The Gadgeteer, including those from Opes, OKMO, with PuleidaWhenever you browse the marketing materials of these stations, they will always have pictures of people camping. Although this is a good use for one of the gadgets, the needs of one of the gadgets in our family are slightly different.My wife is a Distributor, Which means that she often participates in handicraft fairs, church fairs, and holiday fairs where her wares are sold in the evenings and weekends. They are usually outdoor activities and she sets up under a tent; therefore, she needs some portable power supplies. She needs an electric fan in summer, heating in winter, and lighting at night. She always needs a place to charge her mobile phone.In this review, I am checking Jackery’s Explorer 300 See if this is an ideal choice for my wife to participate in these special events.

Although power stations are often used during camping, Jackery is careful to note that Explorer 300 is not waterproof.
Design and features
Like many power stations, Jackery Explorer 300 is shaped like a large rectangular brick. However, Jackery’s product line is distinguished by its soft, rounded edges, bright orange and large handles. All its inputs and outputs are conveniently located on the front together with the LCD display. This is a friendly and practical design.
The exterior of the power station is made of plastic, which feels very sturdy and durable. There are four rubber feet on the bottom to prevent it from sliding around. Overall, I really like the look and feel of this gadget.
Installation and setup
Jackery Explorer 300 is packaged in good condition when received, with a box with custom foam inserts. After taking it out of the package and putting it on my desk, I pressed the display button that turned on the LCD display, and it displayed 38%. Next I read through the manual, where I have to provide support to Jackery: this manual is clear, well laid out, easy to read, and much better than most manuals I read when reviewing gadgets.
Since the manual recommended that I charge the battery before using it for the first time, I took the AC charger out of the soft case and plugged it into the input jack and the wall. When it starts charging, the green LED above the jack lights up and the display tells me that the input power is 76 W. The manual estimates that it takes 4.5 hours from an empty charge to a full charge, and about 3 hours for the first charge. The manual recommends charging at any time when the battery is below 20%. Once the display shows 100%, the Explorer 300 is ready!
Performance
My test plan is to use the Jackery Explorer 300 power station with various things my wife needs in supplier activities.My first test is WORX Power Share Cordless Fan I tested it last year. Like Explorer 300, this fan is durable, portable and orange in color. Although WORX does have its own battery, it does not necessarily require an external power source, but in my tests, it only ran at high speed for 2 hours. When the battery runs out, my wife can plug it into the Explorer 300 and keep it cool on a hot summer day.
This power station can handle up to 300 W of equipment, while the WORX fan only consumes 18 W. When the battery is fully charged, Jackery’s gadget runs the fan at high speed for 8 hours and 42 minutes before reaching 20%. marvelous! She will be able to stay cool all day. If I set the fan to low speed, it will be longer.
My second test should be with Gladle space heater I reviewed it earlier this year. However, this heater consumes 900 W at low power, which is three times the processing capacity of Explorer 300. If my wife wants to keep warm in the cold winter, she will either need a different way of heating or a bigger power station.The good news is that Jackery let Power stations up to 2000 W, If she wants to go that way.
My third test was to use one of them PIXEL K80 photography light I reviewed it last month. Although these lights are indeed designed for photography or videography, they are bright enough to light up her small tent at a supplier event one night, if it happens to be a Halloween event, set the color to orange or special effects lightning may be possible Very cool.
At full brightness in white mode and maximum coolness, the lamp uses 46 W, so if my wife really wants to light up her tent, Jackery Explorer 300 can easily power two K80s at the same time. Maybe she can set one light to white to help her see, and the other light to special effects. When the battery is fully charged, Jackery’s gadget can run one of the lights for more than four hours, and then the battery will reach 20%. If my wife turns the brightness down a bit, she might want to do this, because these K80s are very bright, then it will last longer. Since she rarely stays in the dark for four hours, I think this is another success!
My last test was to charge her phone, so I was a little bit overwhelmed and charged the iPhone 13, iPhone XS and 12.9 iPad Pro at the same time. Explorer 300 has no problem charging all these gadgets because they only use 26 W of power in total.
I am happy to report that the Jackery Explorer 300 power station has passed my three tests with excellent results! The space heater test that I cannot perform is a good reminder that you need to figure out the power you really need so that you can choose and buy a power station that can meet your needs.
Explorer 300 has three different power buttons, one for each type of output, which allows me to selectively power different devices. One for the USB socket, one for the standard AC power socket, and one for the car charger. Each button has a small green LED to let me know when it turns on.
The top of the power station is dominated by a single big handle, which is a bit reminiscent of The speaker handles of yesteryear. I really like this design because it is very easy to carry and compare Two design Found in some other power stations.
Extra features
The Jackery Explorer 300 power station is equipped with an on-board charger, so I brought it to the 2016 Honda CR-V that we bought yesterday. It has no problem charging the battery and powers it more than 80 W.
