I believe you all read the wonderful article about the FBI raid written by our editor-in-chief Jennifer Van Laar last week. Veritas project reporter And its founder James O’Keeffe, In O’Keeffe exposed the FBI and New York Times In the attack on his people.
O’Keeffe is my hero. If anyone embodies Andrew Breitbart’s legacy and what he represents, it is him.When i lived in chicago Acorn It is in its heyday, and the taxpayer’s money is used to flood the system with suspicious voter registration to attract voters and conduct elections that are beneficial to the Democratic Party. When O’Keefe took them, I cheered and hoped that he could continue this work, especially after Breitbart’s death.
O’Keefe did not disappoint. I continue to admire his ingenuity in investigating, the target he chose, and how he cleverly crossed his T and added points to his I.
He is a true trader, and I do everything I can to reflect this detail, documentation, and activist mentality in my own work. You ordinary readers of RedState are very good at letting me know where I succeeded or failed, and I am very grateful.
Therefore, it is chilling to see O’Keefe being the target of the FBI just because he is good at his job and his target audience.
Equally chilling is the situation of the defendant on January 6. I have some requests to dig deeper into some of them, but I only have so much bandwidth and so much time; so I choose not to pursue these requirements. Other conservative media have done a good job of exposing false statements and fabricating allegations, so I don’t think there is any need to copy them. I did follow the story between the O’Keefe and Project Veritas attacks, and what they did to the defendant on January 6 confirmed the fact that we live in a police country. The FBI we celebrated and admired was not the FBI in 2021. I’m not sure where the decay starts, but in the entire organization of this country’s law enforcement agency, it is completely riddled with holes.
Many RedState contributors, especially those of us who are really good at investigating, have been targeted in some form. Some are in the hands of local or federal law enforcement agencies. Given the state of our government and the work we do, we don’t know if we will become O’Keeffe in the near future. This is a thought-provoking wake-up call to remind everyone to be vigilant in all aspects. I personally have fake accounts that cannot be reached by large technology companies, certain computer protocols and firewalls, and other analog and digital means of protecting my work.
One of my gun trainers recommended dogs and guns as a line of defense to protect your home, and my family also has these two. However, being violated by law enforcement agencies late at night just because you exercised your right to freedom of speech is contrary to the position we should represent in this country. Sadly, this ship has sailed many times, which makes it more miserable in some ways, and it may not return.
Although we can do something to protect ourselves from attacks, we can work hard to protect our right to exercise freedom of speech. Reporting the truth and providing evidence and facts are not only acceptable to tech giants or government propaganda agencies known as traditional media.
Therefore, why RedState and other conservative media use special content paywalls as firewalls. Between the useless “fact checkers” and the targeting of law enforcement agencies, the conservative media is in real danger of being wiped out.
