Review – Keto foods have become mainstream, and you can find them when you visit the grocery store. I even found Keto-friendly food at Walmart. The problem is that many of these so-called Keto foods are often snack foods, not foods that you can use as complete foods. Meal ReplacementThis is why I was so excited when I discovered that Keto Chow can replace one or even all of your meals a day. Let’s take a look and do some taste tests!
what is it?
Keto Chow is a drink/shake blend designed to provide complete nutrition and keep you in nutritional ketosis. It contains one-third of daily nutritional requirements such as electrolytes, vitamins, and protein.
What is nutritional ketosis and why should I be involved? Nutritional ketosis means your body burns fat instead of glucose for fuel. Why do you want to be ketogenic? Well, you are burning fat, so it can help you lose weight. Or, if you are like me, I have insulin resistance and elevated A1C. Maintaining ketosis helps keep blood sugar levels in the “normal” range.
Keto Chow taste

When you look at most brands of meal replacement shakes, whether keto or non-keto, they usually only offer a few flavors. Usually, certain brands have chocolate and vanilla and strawberries. Keto Chow offers so many flavors, you may not be able to choose which flavor to try first! I just went to their website and counted 26 flavors, but they keep launching new flavors to try. I’m always trying new things, so I like the fact that Keto Chow offers so many different options.
Although the focus of this review is on the sweetness of Keto Chow, they also offer salty (soup) if you are interested in it.
nutrition

In terms of nutrition, a Keto Chow milkshake formula contains one-third of vitamins, minerals and protein. It does not contain a lot of carbohydrates that can cause blood sugar to spike. It also doesn’t contain too much fat that can cause confusion, because this is a ketone product, and the keto diet focuses on fat. That’s because you can customize milkshakes with the type and amount of fat according to the calories required for each meal. You can read all about the nutrition and ingredients of Keto Chow Here.
The only problematic ingredient for me is that they use 0.08 grams (80 mg) of sucralose to sweeten the milkshake. I don’t like this sweetener because when I used Splenda that day, it made my joints sore. In other words, I have drunk a lot of Keto Chow and have not noticed any adverse effects. If you are totally opposed to sucralose, you can buy their natural strawberry flavor, which uses monk fruit as a sweetener, or you can buy their Keto Chow basic flavor, which does not contain any flavors, sweeteners or even protein. Then, you can customize it to your liking.
The taste of ketchup

Keto Chow sent me their Start Bundle, which includes the flavors you see above and a shaker bottle. They sent me some additional flavors, which are shown in the first picture of this review.

Blending milkshakes is easy, but there are a few things to keep in mind. As mentioned earlier, adding fat is up to you. Yes, you can drink milkshakes without added fat, but if you are on a ketogenic diet, you don’t want to do that.
The milkshake mix comes with a card that shows how much to add based on the calories you need for each meal. For all my milkshakes, I use heavy cream or butter. I didn’t try avocado oil, coconut oil or other oils because I don’t have them at home.

For my first Keto Chow test, I used butter. The real thing is not margarine! You want to make sure the butter melts, so I put the cold butter in a small mold and slowly heat it in the microwave until it becomes liquid.

Then I filled the mixing bottle with 14 ounces of warm water. Yes, I know it sounds disgusting, but you have to cool the milkshake in the refrigerator before drinking it.

The next step is to pour the milkshake mixture into a mixing bottle.

Don’t forget to stir the balls and melted fat! Put them in the bottle too.

Screw on the top, make sure the nozzle is closed and shake. These things mix very well, so you don’t have to worry about clumping, as long as you shake it vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Then put it in the refrigerator for at least an hour or so. That’s it!
My taste test diary
The first mixture I tried was Snickerdoodle, and it turned out to be thick, rich and delicious. It reminds me of cake batter instead of Snickers. I think it needs a little more cinnamon. The milkshake has no lumps or grit, just like a real thick milkshake. It’s actually a bit too thick. After eating it for lunch, I have been full for several hours.
I tried the chocolate flavor at noon the next day. This time I added heavy cream and it was delicious! I used 15.5 ounces and it feels more consistent. The only problem is that it gave me a bowel movement after a few hours. Sorry if it is TMI 😉 I am not lactose intolerant, so I don’t know why it gave me this problem. Even if I have bathroom problems, I would like to have another milkshake like this because it tastes so good.
Two days later, I tried the vanilla-flavored breakfast. I used 16 ounces of water and butter. I think 16 ounces is the perfect amount of water because the milkshake is still very thick, and this amount can really keep you full for a long time. Of the two flavors I have tried, this is by far the least I like.
A few days later, I tried the chocolate toffee, wow, another great one! It tastes like a liquid Heath candy bar. I used the cream again and there was no bathroom problem this time. The first time may be a fluke.
A few days later, I had salted caramel for dinner. I really like it. When I finish drinking the milkshake, I wish I could lick off the mixing bottle. what!
I tried the chocolate peanut butter and looked forward to liking it, but it was just so for me. Compared to chocolate toffee, I prefer pure chocolate flavor.
A few days ago, I tried a strawberry-flavored lunch. I made half butter and half cream and it turned out very well. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did!
I did not try Mocha or Caramel Masciatio because I don’t like coffee taste. I have not tried Pina Colada.
Is Keto Chow really ketone friendly?
I make sure to use my blood sugar test Freestyle In the 14 days of CGM before and after I drank Keto Chow milkshakes, I was happy to report that when I drank them, my blood sugar levels hardly changed. So yes, Keto Chow is really ketone. This is wonderful!
what do I like
- So delicious
- Complete meal replacement shakes with very few carbohydrates
- Dozens of flavors to choose from
- Contains vitamins and protein
- Mix well
What will i change
- Keep adding more flavors!
Final thoughts
I like Keto Chow so much that when they did a bundle sale, I ended up buying 42 chocolate mixes. I also picked a bunch of other flavors, which sounded interesting in a single meal package. So yes, I like this thing. This is my favorite meal replacement shake of all the milkshakes I have reviewed so far because of its consistency, taste, nutrition and the fact that it is ketone-friendly and does not make my blood sugar spike.
