
Review: Regarding the Kyvol AF600 air fryer, the best thing I can tell you is-when Kyvol accidentally sent me two, the daughter I helped me test was almost ticked and said I was “Mr.”. Honest’ and sent back a copy. She recovered and might get a Kyvol. Her help is very valuable to this equipment, because she has another brand of air fryer (not cheap), and Kyvol AF600 is my first. She is full of praise for Kyvol, and I will emphasize her opinion in the comments. There are 3 adults and 3 children in our family this summer. This number provides a good test opportunity for the air fryer.

Design and features

Kyvol AF600 can hold up to 6 quarts of food (verified by adding 6 quarts of water-floating straw effect), and has a “crispy plate” under which air can flow when the food is cooked by convection heat. The device is controlled by multiple touch controls and a wheel control for time, temperature adjustment and start of cooking.

I recently found in several device reviews that the white numbers show the photos as blue. The Kyvol AF600 display has bright white characters, real and clear.
According to the Amazon listing, the 6-quart capacity can hold up to 3.7 pounds of French fries, 4 pounds of whole chicken, 6.3 pounds of chicken wings, and 6.4 pounds of chicken legs. The preset program is based on half the maximum capacity, so you may need to increase the baking time.

The four corners of the fresh-keeping tray are cushioned so that the cooking surface will not be scratched. I guess it is something heat-resistant like silicone.

Installation and setup
It is recommended to clean the food drawer and crisper with soap and water first, so I did. I call it “washing out the factory”.
After the parts are dried, plug the power cord into an AC power outlet.
It is recommended to have a 30-minute “burn” period under the preheat setting, which is also a good suggestion. During the burning process, some ingredients will emit a slight odor, which may be unpleasant if the food adopts this taste.
Test and observe
Can I convince you that there is no such thing as an “air fryer”? Of course there are baking, convection baking, roasting and grilling, and these cooking forms are the practical uses of air fryer. Kyvol AF600 is a convection food cooker, it can do this job well. I’m not trying to reverse the wave of marketing language power that makes air fryer so popular, so I will play with it and call it its name.
The big news is that this Kyvol can complete many cooking tasks quickly and brilliantly, and it is very easy to clean. After a month of testing, AF600 looks as new as it was out of the box.


If you want this air fryer to connect to wifi so that you can control it with the Kyvol app, and if you find that the mobile phone permission requirements are acceptable,’There is an app’. I deleted the application after installation because it needs access to my location, photos, media, and files. Do not. I am very happy to use all my kitchen equipment in the kitchen and interact personally with their built-in interfaces.

When we turn on the AF600, it defaults to 360 degrees for 15 minutes. If appropriate, just press the main circular control wheel button twice and you can start cooking. For some reason, AF600 stopped after 15 seconds, I had to restart it, and then it would continue to cook at 360 degrees for 15 seconds. When I use the preset mode (toast, roast, etc.), the device immediately starts cooking. If another temperature or time is needed, we just need to rotate the wheel to the temperature we want, push into the same wheel, then select the cooking time and wheel push to confirm and start the fryer.
Some items need to be preheated, but we tend to start from scratch, because the target temperature of such a small cooker is quickly reached.


In the breaded chicken chop test, Kyvol AF500 won the appearance test. We compared the batch to the GE convection oven built into our oven microwave. Although Kyvol chicken is drier than GE, it looks much better and not as dry. We think that as we learn about Kyvol, next time we lower the temperature or cooking time, we will get better results.

Chicken nuggets with white flour after baking are a problem. We believe that the convective air circulation should make the pieces cook evenly. Do we have to rotate food in an air fryer to achieve even cooking? This does not seem to be an ongoing problem.

This ugly chicken was made in our convection oven microwave. It tastes great and moist, but if it looks important, it is obviously a loser. We usually don’t use the convection function of a microwave oven to cook chicken, but this is for comparison.
Cut fresh sweet potatoes into fries-sized slices, season with salt, pepper, and olive oil, and finish in AF600 in 10-15 minutes. More cooking time may make them crispy, but we like them before they turn black.

These are sliced ”new potatoes”. My daughter was very impressed by the AF600 observation window because her front is very strong. We can see the food while cooking, so we really don’t need to pull the drawer to see things. When we did open the drawer to check if something was done, the device shut down immediately. After reinserting the drawer, the fryer restarts at its operating time and temperature.

My daughter also likes the grid covering the heating element of the device. The heating element of her air fryer was not protected and splashed on it, causing smoke and smell. When cooking with AF600, we did not encounter smoke or excessive odors.

Before baking bread.


We even use AF600 to bake bread. Frozen “potato bread” hot dog buns turn golden brown in 3-4 minutes at a temperature of 350 degrees. My “Ezekiel bread” (low carbohydrate-pictured) bake at 360 degrees in about 3 minutes. We put away the standard toaster. In the past, baking bread took about 2:30. At 3 minutes in the AF600, the bread was hot and crispy, but did not have a brown appearance. This does not bother me. This is grilled. The bread is brown, which may be a factor, I’m sure that if the cooking time is longer, it will turn brown like hot dog bread taken out of the refrigerator.
For almost all cooking modes we use, the food is finished before the preset stops. On the positive side, it is more effective than the company knows, but in reality, the presupposition may need to be reconsidered.

This is a smoked homemade pizza cooked on a gas grill. (The first time I did this, we plan to repeat it often. We will do more work.) Back to the comments-these pizzas are quickly reheated in Kyvol AF600. The pizza is refrigerated, I used 360 degrees for about 4-5 minutes.
If you want to make thin crust pizza from scratch, you must consider the weight of the patty. We want to use soft tortillas to make personal pizzas for children’s lunches, but due to convective air circulation, they fly around in the deep fryer in “toast” or any other cooking mode. If you add sauce and grated cheese, the cheese will fly away, and the tortillas dipped in the sauce will drift away in the wind. We might try more sauces and sliced cheese to add weight, but heck, this is just for kids’ lunch, and the microwave is only 2 feet away from the hotel.


Given the small cooking area of the AF600 and most other air fryer, we tend to use this equipment to prepare side dishes and fewer main dishes. If one person cooks the main course for one or two people, I think the AF600 will do a good job. When we return to the house at the end of the summer with only two people, we will definitely use AF600 for some main dishes.

What will i change
- The preset cooking time may need to be shorter than the programmed time.
- The grip in the center of the crisper pan feels a bit sharp. If your finger gets stuck in it, it may be dangerous. Just hold it loosely with your thumb and two fingers.

Final thoughts
My wife admitted that she is a “kitchen anti-space miser”. The position on our counter uses Kyvol AF600. It almost took a moment of silence.
