Review – When the pandemic sent millions of employees from company offices to home offices, many of us realized that our work-at-home settings were not ideal for productivity. Upgrading our desktop space has become a top priority, and one of the most important aspects is lighting. When I had the opportunity to check the Lastar table lamp, I had noticed a new desktop lighting source, and I readily agreed. let’s see. small tools!

What is it?

Lastar LED table lamp is a simple style articulated LED table lamp with many practical functions.

Design and features

The Lastar LED desk lamp has a very minimalist style with a smooth shiny black finish. It also has a relatively small basic footprint, so as not to occupy too much space on the desktop.

The Lastar LED desk lamp is controlled by five sturdy controls. Gaze from the far left in the picture above:

  • Power-turn lights on and off
  • M-Cycle between the four color modes, described in more detail below
  • Timer-Start the timer and turn off the bulb after 1 hour
  • Light-Luminous

position

The lamp rotates in two positions, close to its head, where it can be adjusted by 180°, and Down is the base, where its arm can be adjusted by 90°. However, it does not have a rotation function, so if you want to reposition it, you must rotate the entire light.

The two pivot positions provide considerable adjustability, allowing the light to be positioned according to your needs.

The lamp can also be rotated to stand upright, which will cast some interesting-looking shadows in the corners of my office, or flatten out completely (just in case).

Lastar table lamps can even be folded into a flat and compact form for easy transportation. If needed, it is actually small enough to fit in a backpack. This feature came in handy several times when I had to pack my computer and some necessities and set up a temporary mini office in another room.

Color mode

The Lastar table lamp has four color modes, you can cycle through it by pressing the “M” button on the lamp holder. In two sets of four photos, I showed each of the four modes. Moving from left to right in the photo, the four modes are as follows:

  • Learning mode-the brightest and most “blue light”, designed to improve concentration when studying. (6000k-7000K color temperature)
  • Reading Mode-This is a medium color temperature designed to help you focus on reading. (4300K-5300K color temperature)
  • Relaxation mode-more into the “warmer” color temperature, this mode is designed to promote relaxation and improve mood. (2500K-3300K color temperature)
  • Night light mode-the “warmest” of the four modes, designed to provide soft, soft amber lighting to promote relaxation and sleep. The function of this mode seems to be a bit similar to the “night shift” mode on Apple devices. (2500K-3300K color temperature)

Touch dimmer

In addition to the four color modes, you can also control the intensity level of the Lastar desk lamp by sliding your finger from left to right along the brightness adjustment bar (the curved line at the bottom). As shown in the figure above, there are five intensity level adjustments.

Combining four color modes and five intensity levels, it provides a total of 20 lighting settings.

Another useful feature of the Lastar desk lamp is its automatic memory function. The light bulb remembers the most recently selected light color and brightness settings, and uses these settings when you turn on the light bulb again, instead of restoring to the default values.

USB port

Another very convenient feature of the Lastar desk lamp is the USB-A port located on the back of the base, near the power cord port.In the photo above, I am using the Lastar table lamp as a set MPOW M20 true wireless earbuds.

The last aspect of the Lastar table lamp should be noted that although its high-gloss black finish looks cool, it is a complete fingerprint and scratch magnet, as you can see in the photo above.

what do I like

  • Minimalist style
  • Dimmable LED lights have a good brightness range
  • The timer is useful for night reading
  • USB charging port is very convenient

What will i change

  • The arm cannot be rotated, you must manually rotate the base
  • It is a fingerprint and scratch magnet

Final thoughts

Lastar table lamp adopts fashionable and simple style, and its design contains many practical functions. It has twenty lighting settings, including four light color modes and five light intensity levels. If you use it to read before going to bed, its 1-hour timer is very useful, and its rear USB port allows you to charge your phone or other devices. It can also be folded flat for easy carrying. Although the Lastar desk lamp feels a bit cheap in construction, I find it to be quite durable and I think its price is good value for money.
