review – Well, I admit I’m a leather man Multitool fan.i have one in my Electronic data center These great tools have been used every day since the PST was released in 1984. But what to do when they are not being used? Give your multitools a home with the Leatherman Tool Bag!

What is it?

The Leatherman Tool Pouch is a zippered ballistic nylon pouch with interior pockets for organizing and carrying small items.

What’s in the box?

Design and Features

The tool bag comes in the familiar Leatherman yellow and black packaging.

The only thing in the box is a tool bag (and a small desiccant bag if you want to count 😀). The exterior of the pouch is sturdy ballistic nylon.

The zipper is YKK, which feels good and secure.

The zipper opens approximately 1/2 of the side wall of the Leatherman tool bag. I’d be happy if they opened up a bit to make it easier to load and fish the wrong bit from the smallest pocket bottom.

For added security, the zipper pull can be tucked into a small loop on the side of the pouch.

There is a loop on the back for hanging the tool bag.

On the back of the bag, there are three sturdy loops for attaching to molle straps or belt loops.

Internal divider pockets are perfect for pens and other odds and ends.

The largest pocket on each side holds two multi-tools. Fully loaded, the tool bag will get heavy! I don’t want to carry all this stuff in my pocket!

Alternatively, some smaller pocket sizes fit a multi-tool or drill kit.

The space in the middle is just right for an iPhone 12 Pro with a battery case. If your goal is to keep your phone in this bag, I suggest you be careful not to put hard objects in the pocket facing the phone screen to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Leatherman is known for making quality multi-tools. I’ve been carrying one since college, when I bought the original PST at Cutlery World to lighten my backpack. I haven’t been alone since then. I have several Leatherman tools that I rotate based on my day-to-day technical needs. There are many days when I have enough in my pocket to do what I need to do that day, but if I anticipate needing more, it can quickly get heavy and cluttered. I have a kit, but a lot of times, it’s overkill. I think Leatherman’s tool bag is a good place between an EDC and a full tool.

what do I like

  • Well made.
  • Internal pockets keep things organized.

what would i change

  • The longer zipper allows the bag to open wider.

final thoughts

Like all Leatherman products, their Tool Pouch is made with exceptional quality and craftsmanship. This little bag firmly fills the gap between my “everyday carry” and “I need my full kit.” This is a great place to store my multitools that I don’t use and now my kids have a home!
