- Extra virgin olive oil – You can use avocado oil as a substitute.
- fresh lemon juice – although you can use bottled lemon juice For convenience, I recommend fresh-squeezed lemon for the best flavor – it’s the star flavor of this recipe! You can also add lemon zest if you like a tangy lemon flavor.
- dijon mustard – adds a tangy flavor to the dressing, but you can try using whole grain mustard, or even omit mustard if you don’t like it.
- italian seasoning – Depending on the Italian seasoning mix ingredients, you may need to increase or decrease the salt.my 5 minutes Homemade Italian Seasoning, but store purchases also work. Mine is salt free, but some mixes may have salt, so adjust to taste. If you don’t want to use various herbs, you can just use dried basil, dried oregano, or dried thyme.
- garlic powder – Enhances the overall flavor of the lemon salad dressing, but if desired, you can use 1/2 a clove of freshly minced garlic for a more intense garlic flavor, or even onion powder for a milder alternative.
- sea salt and black pepper -kosher salt instead of sea salt also works well.

How to Make Lemon Vinaigrette
Making Simple Lemon Vinaigrette is so easy! In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until emulsified. Adjust salt and pepper to taste, if needed.

Tip: If you’re storing it for later, mix it up in a jar!
All you need to do is put the lid on and shake until emulsified.
