LGEPH and Pasig Municipality join forces for a greener future on World Environment Day


LG Electronics Philippines (LGEPH), in partnership with the City of Pasig City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a tree planting event. Held on June 5, 2023, the event aims to promote environmental protection and sustainable development in the community.

Established by the United Nations in 1972, World Environment Day is a global platform to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and natural resources. In recognition of this important initiative, Mr. Sungjae Kim, Managing Director of LGEPH expressed his gratitude to the volunteers who participated in the tree planting event.

“Our goal is to create a more nature-friendly environment and ensure the long-term sustainable development of the community,” said Mr. Sungjae Kim in his opening speech. “LG has always been committed to making the world a better place, and this event reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship.”

The tree planting event was actively participated by 51 LGEPH employees, including the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Product Director. They were joined by 10 volunteers from Pasig Municipality’s CENRO, working together to have a positive impact on the local environment.

A total of 350 saplings were planted, including a variety of tree species. The trees selected included 50 Salingogon trees, 50 Bougainvilleas, 10 African Talisay and 240 Pintabebua. These saplings will help beautify and enhance the local ecosystem.
