Ingredients and Substitutes

  • butter – I prefer to use grass-fed butter in my low-carb cookie recipes, but any unsalted variety will do. Make sure it’s softened. Butter Flavored Coconut Oil Might work as a dairy-reduced substitute, but I haven’t tried it yet.
  • cream cheese – The full-fat ones add the most flavor, but any regular will do. Soften it to room temperature so it’s easy to mix. Dairy-free cream cheese should also work if desired.
  • Besti Monk Fruit Allulose Blend – The secret to making chewy, mouthwatering no-sweetened keto cookies! If you want to add a subtle brown sugar flavor to these low carb cookies, you can substitute a few tablespoons of Besti Bestie Brown instead.other ketones sugar substitute Might work, but the cookies will be drier and have an aftertaste. (In fact, some of the earlier reviews complained about dryness, since this recipe used to use erythritol – if you use Besti, that problem is solved.) If you still want to substitute, check this Sweetener Conversion Calculator to get the correct amount.
  • Egg – Use a whole large egg. Bring it to room temperature to help it mix easily with the cream cheese. One flax eggs Might work as a replacement, but I haven’t tried it yet.
  • vanilla extract – The classic flavor of traditional and keto cookies.
  • sea salt – Helps perfect the sweetness in keto cookie recipes.
  • sour cream – A not-so-secret ingredient that adds extra flavor and moisture to this keto cookie recipe. It’s optional, but makes a big difference in texture.
  • Wholesome Yum Almond Flour – Compared to other almond flours, the fine grinding helps make this keto cookie recipe bake perfectly—never mushy or gritty.

Tips for the Best Keto Cookies

Tips for the Best Keto Cookies

You can see how easy this keto cookie recipe is, but here are some tips for great results:

  • Bring ingredients to room temperature. Otherwise, they will be difficult to mix together and make a lumpy dough.
  • Use a cookie scoop. The dough is soft and sticky, so a cookie scoop is easier than a spoon or by hand. It also ensures that the cookies are evenly sized so they cook evenly.
  • Flatten the cookies. Keto cookies don’t flatten or spread like regular wheat flour cookies. So make sure you flatten them to the right thickness before baking. Also, since they don’t spread as much, spacing the cookies about 1 to 1.5 inches apart is enough.
  • Consider wet dough if needed. If the dough is too wet and sticky to flatten easily, place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. It also helps wet your hands to flatten them out, which prevents the dough from sticking to your hands.

Variety

  • Chocolate Chip – You can fold them directly into the batter, dip half of each baked keto cookie in melted chocolate, or add a melted chocolate drizzle at the end. This is my favorite brand Keto Dark Chocolate Chips.
  • flavor extract – I used classic vanilla, but you can try other flavors as well.
  • Tangerine – Add a little lemon or orange zest to the dough.
  • frost – Sprinkle the cooled biscuits Keto Cream Cheese Frosting (with the top sugar free sprinkles If you like! ).
  • caramel – add drizzle Sugar Free Caramel Syrup And put in the refrigerator to harden. (You’ll want to eat them cold to keep the caramel firmness.)

Storage Instructions

  • Shop: Store low-carb cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
