A 50-year-old man has been arrested as part of a police investigation aimed at targeting racist tweets Marcus Rashford.
Simesia Police The suspect said it was very close to Powick Worcester, Was detained on suspicion of inciting racial hatred after reporting an inappropriate tweet on Sunday.
According to reports, this tweet stated that Rashford’s MBE “needs to burn your fakes” and added “pack up and go to your own country” and appeared on the account of a youth football coach.
The man allegedly claimed that his Twitter account was hacked.
The man was not named by the police and has since been released for investigation.
Sergeant Pete Nightingale of the Worcester Police Department commented on the investigation: “We encourage people to make these reports and are satisfied with the speed with which we can handle this incident.
“We continue to work with the local football community and maintain contact with local clubs to ensure that this behavior is handled appropriately.”
