Michigan is in crisis. This is one of the biblical standards. Our most noble leader seems to be missing. Actually, I’m not serious. We have seen COVID peaks before and we have survived it, but this time Governor Whitmer is missing and we need leadership. However, maybe it’s just not hers.

The Great Lakes State has once again made some headlines because of the surge in our COVID, which has caused the state’s media to rush to the hills in fear. However, unlike last year, our part-time Fearless Governor not only did not issue an order to save the lives of the unwashed people, but she could not find her meager comments anywhere.

According to tracking data from the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday, Michigan once again led the country in the number of new COVID-19 cases per capita in the past 7 days.
The CDC found that the state’s reported 7-day rate of new cases was 504 per 100,000 residents, the highest in the country. Minnesota followed closely with 490. These figures are another setback in the state’s 20-month fight against the virus, and the number of new infections has surged, which is testing the capabilities of Michigan hospitals.
The last time Michigan led the nation in the number of new cases per person was in the spring, when the surge in cases peaked in April. It is unclear how long the recent surge will last and how it will affect healthcare workers who have been responding to the pandemic since March 2020.
So where is Whitmer?
At this time last year, she “encouraged” the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to issue an order requiring restaurants to close before a certain time and only accommodate so many people. This year, with potentially greater progress, she is currently handling state affairs in California and may spread COVID. Of course, she was “vaccinated”, but we know how these breakthrough cases keep appearing.
Now, some people on the left may say that her power to enforce invalid COVID authorization was taken away last year, but that is not the case, as I pointed out above and talked about here in Red State last year. The Michigan State Legislature repealed the Whitmer Emergency Powers Act, and she cannot veto it
The law she used was cancelled because it was a bit harsh, and of course, she abused it, so it was annulled by a petition from the state’s citizen leaders. However, as I mentioned above, she did use MDHHS to issue workplace orders, as Biden administrators tried to do nationwide, to resolve her loss of power. The state Republicans lost their temper, but never took action to curb this power, such as cutting the future funding of the department as simple as possible.
So, this time the governor will use her special power to limit restaurant opening hours to save lives? We all know that there is a late night curfew for COVID-19! !

Whitmer’s spokesperson Bobby Leddy did not say this week that the governor’s government will use its emergency powers to intervene.
“We continue to encourage Michigan people to get vaccinated because this is the best way to keep people safe and ensure that businesses and schools can operate safely,” Leidy said Monday of Whitmer’s response to the surge in COVID-19 numbers.
“The vast majority of Michigan people have done the right thing to protect themselves and their families. They are vaccinated, wear masks when gathering indoors, undergo testing and isolation after exposure, or stay home when they feel unwell.
“For those who have not been vaccinated, it is more important to take these scientifically proven preventive measures to reduce the risk of contracting the virus and minimize the symptoms that may occur during exposure. We all have the tools available to slow the spread and Keep yourself safe.”
Damn it strange.
So why doesn’t she call her supervisor at MDHHS from her comfortable office in the netherworld and make a suggestion that can save the entire country? Let me make a not-so-large leap in this speculation.
She will be re-elected in just 355 days, and she has just seen what happened in New Jersey and Eastern Virginia a few weeks ago. The tasks of saving children and the elderly or any other group you can think of will not be worth the headache until next November.

President Joe Biden drove around in Michigan yesterday in an electric car, and the governor performed official duties in another state. Governors of the same party almost never miss the opportunity to be with an American president on their turf. She jumped on the plane to escape the chaos of Joe Biden and the traveling clown show during his presidency.
After 30 years of observing politicians reporting that they are about to vote on the back end, I think this is more likely to be the reason why we are not even threatened by the lockdown. Being blocked makes people less willing to vote for you.
