exist Minnesota, They are rethinking social research.
Not long ago, the school mainly taught the boring facts.
Nowadays, institutions are soaked-far-sighted (see “Virginia school video tells second-year students that the key to security is zero police“).
Education seems to be aimed at cultivating right-thinking citizens, not knowledgeable students.
To this end, the state’s Ministry of Education will meet on Tuesday to review the proposed agreement.
As pointed out Campus reform, The plan consists of a committee that includes Five colleges:
- University of Minnesota Twin Cities
- McAlester College
- University of Saint Thomas
- Bethel University
- St. Catherine University
The K-12 Social Research Standard describes national history in an evolutionary way: partly through the perspective of “power structure” and “oppressive system” [sic]. “
“Academic standards and supporting benchmarks,” the document states, “are divided into five parts: citizen and government, economy, geography, American and world history, and ethnic studies.
The tribe will be treated strongly:
The contributions of the American Indian tribes and communities in Minnesota have been integrated into every link and all standards. Each chain has three to six standards.
The plan lists “benchmarks” where “[supplement] Standard and [are] The specific knowledge and/or skills that students must master in order to meet some academic standards at the end of the grade. “
Some orders for ninth grade students:
- Describe the origin and spread of the transatlantic abolitionist movement, focusing on the role of black abolitionists, and compare the historical abolitionist movement with today’s abolitionist movement.
- Explore how crime is constituted and what makes a person a criminal.
- Cultivate a sense of respect for how gender concepts and norms change over time, and how LGBTQ+ community members can respond to persecution or marginalization by building alliances to promote gender equality/fairness.
Ninth grade standards:
Use historical methods and sources, including ethnic and indigenous research methods and sources, to understand and reflect on the roots of contemporary social systems and oppressive environmental systems, and learn from past experiences and lessons to eliminate injustice and strive to achieve a fair future.
If the standards are accepted, young Minnesota people will receive a balance education instead of on a seesaw.
For kindergarten:
Tell a story about the experience of fairness and unfairness, illustrating the balance and imbalance of power.
Provided by corresponding standards:
Use historical methods and sources, including ethnic and aboriginal research methods and sources, to understand and reflect on the roots of contemporary social systems and oppressive environmental systems, and learn from past experiences and lessons to eliminate injustice and strive to achieve a fair future.
First-level benchmark:
Construct the meaning of the terms race, equality, emancipation and power system and find examples.
And the standard for six-year-old children:
Describe places and regions and explain how they are affected by the power structure.
Recently, power—the difference between oppression and victimization—is what it means to understand the United States.
In the late 1980s, children looked up to Seaman—he “Strong.”
The little boy imagined them as him because they believed that they could be very strong.
They are inspired because power is a positive thing.
these days, “existpowered by“It is welcome, but it seems to apply only to selected citizens.
Power is no longer a manifestation of privilege-the source of shame.
