The two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and writer Nicholas Kristof (Nicholas Kristof) resigned from the New York Times after 37 years in office. Christophe, 62, is considering running for governor of Oregon. Yesterday, he submitted a formal “Statement of the Organization of the Candidate Committee” to the Secretary of State of Oregon, so you know he is not joking.From New York Times:
“This has always been my dream job, even with malaria, plane crashes in Congo, and occasional arrests abroad for journalism,” Mr. Christophe said in a statement announcing his resignation. Said in. “Yet I am here, resigning-very reluctantly.”
“During my visits to 160 countries, I met presidents and tyrants, Nobel laureates and warlords,” Christoph said in a statement on Thursday. “Because I have an excellent job, an excellent editor, and the best readers, I might be an idiot to leave. But you all know how much I love Oregon and how much I have suffered from the suffering of old friends there. So I reluctantly concluded that I should not only try to expose the problems, but also see if I can fix them directly.”
