Artur Gernand from the office of the mayor of Rzesow told the PAP that the cat was trapped between the heating pipe and the surrounding protective devices.
“Tuesday (rescuers) managed to bend the protective element backwards to increase the space, thanks to the cat, it can go out,” Gernand was quoted as saying.
After escaping, the cat was taken in by the animal charity Fundacja Felineus, named Rurek after the Polish word for pipe. The foundation said on Friday that he had left the hospital to take care of the cat.
