Review – We don’t often have power outages here, but once there is a power outage, it is very inconvenient because my wife and I both work at home. When the review quotation for OKMO 1000W portable power station appeared, I seized the opportunity to obtain a little backup power.

Design and features
I chose to evaluate the OKMO 1000W portable power station for two reasons. Firstly, as a backup power source for the family, and secondly, it is used when traveling, camping or using it for a long time on the beach. I discovered more uses that I didn’t anticipate.
OKMO G1000 is bigger than my other power plants and provides more connectivity and capacity. There are two large handles on the top of the device for easy movement. The design is cute, including easy-to-read labels for various ports, unlike some technical items with icons that you have to decode or remember.
The display is easy to read and includes indicators when each port is in use or open. Inserting a USB device will automatically open the port, which I found to be a very good feature.
The operation of OKMO G1000 is very simple. There is a central power button and separate buttons for turning on the AC, USB and DC outputs. That’s all there is to it, open it and insert something. OKMO G1000 has a pure sine wave output, which is the preferred output for powering electronic devices.
There are basically three charging methods for OKMO G1000. The included AC adapter or 12VDC car charger is plugged into the DC-IN port, or you can connect a compatible solar panel to the DC-IN or PV-IN connector.
Recharge time:
- AC adapter – 10 hours
- DC car adapter – 9 hours
- Solar (2 * 100W solar panels) – 6 hours
The display includes a five-segment battery level display. I do want the display to be the same as the display on my other device, including the wattage used and the estimated remaining time. If I had to list one, it might be my only “complaint”.
The DC port is automatically closed when there is no load for 30 seconds. The AC output does not have a sleep mode; it must be turned off manually when not in use.
My main test of OKMO G1000 is to run my Tchibo coffee machine, because if there is no coffee, there is no reason to start a new day. It works perfectly, so life is good.
I found that OKMO G1000 has more uses than I initially thought. I am building a playground for my grandchildren. It is much easier to charge a cordless battery with a power supply than to drag a 200-foot extension cord to my son’s house (see main picture).
My second unexpected use was to power my video projector-in the backyard. I could use the extension cord, but since OKMO G1000 is next to the extension cord, I only used it. It also eliminates the danger of tripping in the dark. The next time there is a power outage, it will be movie night!
After the thunderstorm, my brother-in-law also had no power for five days. I lent him OKMO G1000, which can charge his mobile devices and provide lighting at night. He hoped that he could tell me earlier that they had no electricity, because he had no electricity for three days before I found out.
OKMO G1000 also has intelligent protection on the battery management system (BMS):
- Over discharge protection
- Overcurrent protection
- Overcharge protection
- Thermal Protection
- Short circuit protection
The amount of time you can run the devices obviously depends on the amount of power that these devices use. It may not power your refrigerator or run air conditioners, but it can run about 90% of the appliances in your home.
what do I like
- The USB port will automatically open when the device is plugged in
- Numerous input and output options
- Unconditional 24-port quality assurance
What will i change
- Estimated remaining time display (just like similar products) will be good
Final thoughts
I found that OKMO G1000 was enough to meet my power needs and provided something I didn’t expect: peace of mind. Don’t worry about running my CPAP, or most importantly, making coffee in the morning. If there is a power outage, I will drink coffee and surf the Internet; what else does one need?
