Beds and Bedding
Personally I think bedding is the most important part of any bedroom, guest room or non-guest room. There’s nothing better than lying in bed with crisp soft sheets and cozy blankets. In the guest rooms, I wanted to use neutral colors to showcase the natural light and Farrow & Ball’s purple/gray paint color Peignoir. Pact produces 100% organic cotton bedding Great neutral tones for spaces.
I love percale bed sheet Because they’re crisp and cool (perfect for summer), but Pact’s 100% organic cotton also makes them super soft. For the room, I chose Cool air percale sheet set In the shell, it’s a gorgeous pale pink. The bed frame was bought at the last minute and it worked out great. Last summer we decided to rent out our house for the winter and I hope the space will be great for our tenants.I was looking for something solid and simple and found it This white metal bed from Raymour & Flanigan. Fast delivery including assembly.
artwork
From the moment we got our hands on the white metal bed frame, I knew these black and white photos would be perfect for the space. (some available ), while these white framed surf prints with white cushions add a beach vibe to the space. There are a few other surf and floral prints throughout the room, framed in natural wood. I keep it to a minimum so that the room feels cozy but not overwhelming with too much on the walls.
lighting, furniture, curtains
Furnishings in the rooms are minimal but bring warmth and functionality to the space。 It’s just the right size and color to bring in some natural wood to soften the look of the metal bed frame The bedside is also from Crate & Kids.
I think I found this terracotta lamp at Marshall’s a few years ago (This one from Target is very similar). It has some nice texture and the warm tones complement the bedding and wooden vanityAnother discovery from Crate & Kids. The ceiling isn’t super high so I was looking for a flush mount light with a warm texture and this one was perfect!
Sofa bed from Sixpenny (you can Read my full review here). Together with the wooden side table it makes a great little reading nook. The slipcovers are washable, which is a huge bonus for pets (and rental homes).
I had the curtains custom made because I wanted a linen pull shade with a blackout lining.i have them Made locally at Fabric Connection in Middletown They also handle installation. I get comments and questions about drapes all the time because they really make a space look so beautiful.
Wood floor mirror from IKEA. We’ve had it for years and it shows up in various places in our house.
closet
We decided to remove the double doors from the closet in this room and put from The Container Store.when i have Marlin’s wardrobe is ready In her room, I decided to do both. It really maximizes closet space and adds a lot of drawers, which I use for extra sheets. There is also a hanging rod. It’s a great combination for storage.
1/4 bathroom
i shared The 1/4 tub is shown on the front so you can see all the details here. I still love the dark blue paint color we chose and the gold fixtures. It’s small but perfect for guests to have their own bathroom.
