Review – Shopping for baby supplies has become a nightmare for me and my partner with the imminent arrival of a baby. A wide selection of possible necessity and convenience makes decision paralysis a reality. And if you also care about the look and style of any project you’re working on, it complicates the equation. We were always looking for a high chair: sturdy, stylish, easy to clean, easy to store and adjustable. Many of the options we’ve explored so far meet some but not all criteria, but it’s hard to find a perfect option that ticks all the boxes. Then the Peg Perego Siesta Highchair Review came along, blowing away all our previous choices.
what is it?

The Peg Perego Siesta high chair is a high chair for babies and toddlers, but I think you might also fit small dogs/cats/pigs. It features adjustable height and tilt, a padded bucket seat, a removable washable tray and a fold for easy storage. It is made and styled in Italy.
It’s available in a variety of colors to match almost any decor, and we received the “Ambience Brown” colorway.

Design and Features

At first glance, the Peg Perego Siesta high chair may seem like just a stylish, typical high chair, but once you start digging into it, the functions keep popping up.

First, it can be folded into a very compact size for easy storage. This is a welcome feature not offered by many of the other models we’re looking at.

When deployed, the high chair is very stable and does not wobble at all. It doesn’t feel like a cheap or unsafe chair. Everything is securely locked in place.

4 wheels are easy to move and fully lock to prevent accidental movement. The frame is a high quality plastic with a faux wood finish on our colorways.

The photo above shows the tray and locking controls (on either side of the seat). The tray is easy to remove and install, providing a safety restraint (on top of the 5-point harness) when installed. Speaking of seat belts, the buckles are easy to use and feel premium quality. A large button in the center holds all the straps together on the baby’s chest/abdomen.

The back of the Peg Perego Siesta High Chair is a rubber mesh for quick and easy storage of bottles or other items that little hands can’t reach. In the picture above you can also see the 4 slots for the harness. As pictured, it’s intended for babies, but as your child grows, you can move them to a higher position to accommodate toddlers up to 45 pounds.

The footrest can be adjusted to 3 different angles, and the seat itself can be reclined to a near-level resting position. I love that it becomes a multipurpose device for snoozing, eating, etc.

The image above shows the locking controls for the Peg Perego Siesta high chair, which clearly show whether the wheels are locked or unlocked. Wheels are great on hard surfaces, but on carpet they don’t slide easily, which is probably the case with most wheeled high chairs.

In the “stop” position (locked), the high chair is securely fastened to any flat surface.

The tray has an easily removable liner and is even dishwasher safe. Cleaning of the entire high chair is easy and all surfaces are stain resistant. The tray itself (like many baby products) may seem difficult to get in and out of the chair at first, but after a few tries you get the hang of it and you can even operate it with one hand. At first I thought it was negative in my review, but by the end of the review period, it was easy.

The Peg Perego Siesta High Chair is also very height adjustable and then turns into a low chair. This flexible height is perfect for matching toddlers to chairs or even bar-height surfaces.

When folded for storage, there are hooks on the tray so it won’t come loose. This foldable compact package is an added bonus we didn’t even know we needed!
installation and setup
Installation is as simple as pushing the 2 non-permanently attached casters onto the base and placing the tray cover on the tray. It couldn’t be easier.
what do I like
- stylish design
- Adjust easily and lock securely in place
- Ability to change seat belt position as child grows
- easy to clean
- Looks safe and secure
what would i change
- there is nothing! This does meet all of our requirements, the only thing that would make it better would be if it had an AI-assisted robotic arm to catch all the food and toys that babies and toddlers like to throw in all directions from their high chairs.
final thoughts
For our needs, I can’t imagine a better high chair than the Peg Perego Siesta High Chair. Maybe it’s out there, but these exhausted parents who haven’t even been born are relieved to have had the chance to stumble across the high chair. I’ll be sure to update the review as our little monster grows!
