As I typed, the President of the United States was nearly four and a half hours late for his Afghanistan press conference, during which Jen Psaki held a briefing. For the White House, everything hasn’t gone so smoothly.Although Psaki is really good at her job, which requires a lot of confusion and arrogance, she is not an opponent of Fox News Peter Dussie Nowadays.
He asked multiple questions and pressured the press secretary about our disastrous retreat in Afghanistan and her claim that no Americans were trapped. In the end, she did not answer the questions raised, but continued to talk nonsense.
This is what it looks like.
Doocy: “You said yesterday that it is irresponsible to say that Americans are now trapped in Afghanistan. What do you say to the American citizens of Kabul who spoke to the fox this morning”, they said she was “stranded”.

You can see that Psaki has prepared her talking points, first by scripting a response to Doocy’s pressure on her absurd comments that Americans are not stranded. She claimed that the White House was keeping in touch with Americans who wanted to leave, but she never made a firm promise to evacuate them all. Tap dancing is a good word to describe what Psaki is doing.
But what really leaves the press secretary nowhere is follow-up action.

Doocy told Psaki that an American citizen called Fox News this morning and said she was trapped, and the State Department did not respond to their emails. Psaki had nowhere to go at the time, but insisted that if Doocy gave her that woman’s phone number, she would make sure to get in touch with them. Finally, Doocy hit Psaki again and asked whether the Taliban’s influence on US policy was as great as the commander-in-chief. This question was caused by the fact that Biden followed the Taliban’s leadership this morning and announced that the 8/31 deadline would not be extended.
Psaki again has no real answer, claiming that the “original” deadline is 5/31 of the previous government. But it doesn’t matter, because Biden made his own plan and the Taliban did not control the country on May 31.Obviously, the current lack of expansion is entirely due to Taliban gives orders, They were just giving orders because the president stood idly by as they advanced and did not begin to evacuate until the fall of Kabul.
All in all, given the seriousness of the situation, this is one of Psaki’s most shameless performances. Once, when she announced that this was the largest airlift in history, she began to smile. But when we are in this position just because of the great failure of the White House, this is not an achievement. No one will pay for these excuses. No one will brag about how successful this operation is said to be. This is a disaster, everyone knows it.
Unfortunately, Doocy is the only reporter in the room willing to ask sharp questions today.
