Pixel K80 RGB LED Photographic Video Lighting Kit Review Rating
Generalize
Although the overall build quality is not outstanding, the lights themselves are excellent, and they seem to be worth the money compared to the lighting in specialty stores.
advantage
- LED lighting is very good, with a wide range of customization levels
shortcoming
- The build quality of everything except the lights is very poor
Photography is not my strong suit. This is obvious from many of my product photos. The situation has improved over the years, and semi-decent mirrorless cameras have helped.Usually, I find myself using Pixel 6 For most product photos, it can take consistently good photos that require minimal editing.
Good lighting is usually a factor between good and bad photos, and our indoor home lights usually provide poor inconsistent lighting. Photography-specific lighting can solve many problems, but it can be very expensive or usually insufficient.
The Pixel K80 RGB LED kit is at the high end of product pricing on Amazon, but in general, it is much cheaper than similar products on professional websites.

set up
Mounting the lamp to the bracket is a bit cumbersome, and the connector on the lamp is much larger than the mounting point on the tripod. Fix the lamp in place by clamping the lamp there with a thumbscrew/knob.
The bracket and its legs are a bit light, so when the light is full height, its settings are a bit unstable.
Installing the diffuser was a bit confusing at first. Their wings are inserted between the barn door and the frame, and getting them through is a bit challenging. Once the diffuser is in place, you cannot close the door properly, so you need to remove it when you put them back in the back.
The lights are independently powered, and the two power blocks have a cable of appropriate length, which allows you to have a certain degree of flexibility in settings
is using
The Amazon listing states that this is a remote control, but mine does not. What I receive may be different from what is listed on Amazon.
The lights themselves are good, they can be very bright and should be more than enough for amateur and aspiring professional photographers.
You have many choices. Most people like me may keep the LED pure white, thus changing the temperature. However, you have RGB, and you have various blinking options.
The total power of each lamp is 45W with 552 LEDs, so if it is used for a period of time, it will run very hot.
I am very impressed with handbags, which is not what I usually point out. But the whole kit is well packed, and the bag is well filled, but not bulky. Similarly, for the occasional photographer, it is best not to put a lot of equipment around.
There are battery slots on the back of the lamp. Pixel doesn’t sell these, but these seem to be NP-F batteries, and you can buy some rave reviews on Amazon for about £33 (you will need two pairs).
Price and availability
When I first received a sample of this product, Pixel K80 was available on Amazon in the UK, but it seems to have disappeared now. There are many alternatives, this kit seems to be white label, basically the same provided by other brands.
For American buyers, Amazon.com’s price is less than US$300 and can enjoy a coupon of US$20, which sometimes drops to about US$254. This list specifically indicates that you have obtained a wireless remote control.
When I first saw the price, it seemed quite expensive to me, but check online photography and lighting experts, you will pay about £150 for a single white LED panel, and a pair of softboxes can easily get you Back to £500
overall
Although the overall build quality is not outstanding, the lights themselves are excellent, and they seem to be worth the money compared to the lighting in specialty stores.
For people like me, these lights are perfect. I took a lot of photos as part of my work, not my main job. You can judge by the quality of my photos. Lighting like this helps to improve the overall quality with a relatively low investment.
