These books are usually optimistic, preaching, and unimaginative. Many of them repackaged the same themes and roles; usually, the author would choose a certain number of historical figures to celebrate. Obama selected 13 American “heroes”; Chelsea Clinton selected 13 American women; Gillibrand selected ten feminists. They usually rely on the repetition of certain slogans, so even if this is very mediocre, they will not miss the point.
People may have to ask why there are so many such books, but the main reason is obvious: money.
