Pros Beauty Review | Jess Ann Kirby

When it comes to my beauty routine, especially makeup, my main goal is quick and easy. I didn’t start wearing makeup (besides the occasional mascara and lip gloss) until after college. Over the years, I’ve discovered some really great brands whose products I’ve fallen in love with. I really like wearing makeup (most mornings). That’s not to say I use it every day, sometimes I just wear moisturizer and SPF, but when I wear makeup, I like to use products that feel light on the skin, basically like I’m wearing nothing.one of the brands is advantage. Launched January 2021, MERIT features minimalist makeup where less is more. My initial introduction to the brand came shortly after they launched with some of their most popular products, Highlighter, lip balm and eyebrow gel. I’m impressed and love how easy they are to use, as well as being clean and cruelty free.

I’ve had the chance to try almost every MERIT product over the past few years, so today I’m sharing my honest reviews of the ones I’ve used, as well as my favorite simple everyday makeup products. For those who travel a lot, MERIT is a must-have makeup for travel!

Pros Beauty Reviews

Headquartered in Los Angeles, advantage Launched January 2021, founded by Katherine Power (you may recognize her as co-founder of Who What Wear). Power founded minimalist beauty brand MERIT to fill what she saw as a gap in the market for clean and well-edited beauty brands. Essentially, she wants to bring consumers a curated 5-minute beauty experience. One of the things I really like about MERIT is their attitude towards the product. They sell a total of 9 beauty products (comes in various shades) and a brush. Whether you’re pressed for time or just don’t like heavy makeup, they make it super approachable and easy.

Is virtue clean?

MERIT is a clean brand, which means they use natural and lab-made non-toxic ingredients. There is no prescribed definition of clean beauty, but MERIT meets Sephora clean brand standards as well as EU standards. The brand also excludes artificial flavors from its products.

MERIT has also worked with Hollywood esthetician Biba de Sousa to formulate its complexion products to ensure they don’t cause inflammation or possibly acne.

Is Merit Beauty cruelty-free?

MERIT is vegan, cruelty-free, and Leaping Bunny Certified.

Virtue beauty products

Beauty Eyebrows 1980

MERIT VOLUME Brow Gel It was one of the first products I tried and fell in love with. It is by far my favorite brow gel product for filling and defining brows. The brush and formula create the look of shaggy brows. The brow gel is super easy to apply and lasts all day. It’s a mineral-based formula with vitamin B5 to condition brows without flaking or drying out. This is a great way to get natural, fuller brows. For my brows, I use the shade brown.

Merit Beauty Shade Slick

I’m a big fan of lip oils and MERIT is one of my favorites. MERIT Lustrous Silky Tinted Lip Oil Formulated with Rosehip Oil and Shea Butter, it’s sheer and moisturizing. It’s glossy and doesn’t feel sticky. My two favorite shades are Bel Air (sheer) and Au Naturel (warm peachy pink)。 Kind of like a lip gloss and lip gloss in one.

merit beauty sun

advantage Highlighter Day Glow was another one of the first products I tried, originally in Bounce, which was their rose gold shade. It’s creamy, buildable and blendable. I love how it gives a subtle dewy sheen without being shimmery or shimmery. It’s made with squalane to lock in moisture. I’ve tried all three shades, Bounce, Cava and Citrine. Citrine is my favorite, it is a gorgeous soft gold. I applied sun rays on my cheekbones.

Merit Beauty Lip Balm

MERIT lip balm is a cream blush with buildable color and a satin finish. It’s lightweight on the skin, gives a really gorgeous pop of color and is super easy to apply. This is one of my favorite cream blush products because it builds the color easily and blends into the skin. It currently has 9 blush colors including some new ones.my favorite is Stockholm (pink), Persimmon (orange-red) and Beverly Hills (peach pink).

Merit Beauty Bronze Balm

MERIT Bronze Balm A creamy sheer bronzer in an easy-to-use stick.if you read My review of Saie’s Sun Melt You probably know it as my favorite bronzer, but MERIT’s Bronze Balm is pretty stiff competition. It’s definitely more sheer, but I love how it comes in an easy-to-apply stick. It’s easy to blend with your fingers, and for subtle color or contouring, it’s a great choice. I use it in shade clay.

Merit Beauty Cleansing Mascara

i have to admit i’m right MERIT’s Cleansing Mascara. I have other cleansing mascaras that I really like (Tower28 and Ilia), I didn’t really find new ones in the market, but I wanted to test this one, so I did and I was impressed. You’ve probably heard of tube mascara before, and if you haven’t, it’s a technique that wraps around each lash, meaning no smudging. My favorite thing about this clean mascara is that it doesn’t clump at all. It takes a few coats, but works amazingly for lengthening and volumizing lashes, and washes off super easy at the end of the day. Nothing drives me crazy like mascara that can’t get off. clean eyelashes Washes off easily with water and detergent and stays smudge-free throughout the day.

MERIT Minimalist Contouring Stick

MERIT describes their Minimalist complexion stick as “Not a foundation or a concealer”, I’d say that’s accurate. Although they describe it as light to medium coverage, I would say it is more towards light. If you like makeup without makeup, then the complexion stick is a good choice. I tend to use a minimalist complexion stick as a concealer since I usually wear a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen with my makeup routine. I love that it is easy to use and feels super lightweight on the skin. It is super easy to apply and blend, the only trouble I had was finding my shade. i ended up on the cream This suits my skin tone well. My only other complaint is that one of the makeup sticks flew out of the packaging when I first opened it. I was able to put it back on but not sure if it was a one off or a design flaw.

MERIT good skin

MERIT Great Skin Instant Glow Serum is a lightweight serum with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Overall, I love serums. It’s definitely good under makeup and works great with MERIT’s Minimalist Skin Tone Stick. It’s not enough for my skin by itself, so I need to use an extra serum/moisturizer. It’s almost like a serum versus a serum. It definitely gives the skin a radiant glow, and it’s best left on the skin for a minute before applying makeup. The bottle lasts a long time but I think the product would be better in a dropper as it has a thin consistency and tends to spray when using the pump. Shake well before use. It claims to plump the skin (which I didn’t notice), but it did make my skin look brighter and more radiant.

Where does Merit Beauty sell it?

MERIT is only sold online Merit Network exist Sephora online and in stores.
