Review – daily work. For most people, this means going to work. However, for some people, this means nocturnal activity of grinding teeth. Teeth grinding can cause serious problems and even tooth loss. The dentist will make braces for you, but you need to pay. If you don’t have good dental insurance, the cost may be very high. Remi hopes to change this situation with their home braces kits, allowing you to make custom molds in the comfort of your home, and then let professionals use it to make custom-installed braces.
My lovely, as you will see, the very cooperative wife has been using the teether for several years. She is interested in trying Remi, so let’s get started.
What is it?
Remi Custom Night Guard is a custom bite guard made from a mold you produce at home. The mold is sent back to Remi and they will transport your guard within the claimed two weeks.
What’s in the box?

Let’s start with the box. This is important because you will reuse this box to send your customized molds.
In the box, we found several paperwork items.

- Return information card
- Full step-by-step instructions
- Replace the putty card (if you mess up)
- thank you card
- Yellow sealing sticker

- Padded envelopes for molds
- Prepaid USPS mailing label (this will be affixed to the box, not the envelope)

- Large green mold tray (x2)
- Small blue mold tray (x2)
- Molding putty set (2 blue and 2 white each, 2 in total)
Hardware specifications
- Structure: BPA-free, dental grade, hard and soft 1 mm plastic, 1.3 mm and 2 mm are available on request
set up
This setup is the most complicated part, because once you receive your completed guards, you can put them on.
If you are not good at following instructions and doing things quickly, this may not be for you. It is not difficult, but things must happen quickly. The forming putty is packed in two different containers. Once you start to combine them, you must complete the mixing process, fill the tray and bite into the putty within 90 seconds. This sounds difficult, but it turns out that it is easy to complete.

First, you will test bite the two sizes of trays to determine which size is best for your mouth. For my wife, the blue, smaller tray works best. Next, open a blue putty container and a white putty container. After taking out the two putty balls, combine them, press quickly and mix in your hands. Once all the white putty is mixed into the blue putty and the whole ball is uniformly light blue, you roll the putty into a long log and then divide it into two pieces.

Above, you can see the fine meshes in each bite tray. You press putty logs into the top and bottom of the selected bite tray and fill the area with putty. When finished, put it in your mouth and bite into the putty. This is everything.
Once in your mouth, you sit down and wait five minutes for the putty to harden. The hardest part is that you really can’t swallow, and something in your mouth will make you drool. This is not glamorous. 🙂
After five minutes, you swing the tray and eject it. We are a little worried that this might be difficult, but it pops up easily.
This is the result.

These photos are important because the instructions tell you to take the top and bottom photos and email them to Remi. They will take a look and tell you if you are doing it right. You need to confirm before repeating the process and getting another set of impressions. I emailed the photo to Remi and immediately received an automatic reply:
thank you for your letter! We will do our best to reply you within 24-48 hours (Monday to Friday). Thank you for your patience, and please wait for our response and approval before sending your second impression/mail to us.
Kindly,
Remy Team
Less than two hours later, I got their actual reply:
Thank you for sending these photos. In order for us to better determine whether your print is good, please confirm the goods you ordered:
Night watchman only
Night Guard + Whitening Gel
Whitening suit
Your bottom impression looks great, and you have captured your back molars and your gum line. You need more putty on the front and back. Next time you try, please add a little more putty before and after, and a little less in the center (tongue area), and then bite down completely but gently, so that we can have a deeper impression of your incisors and molars, it should be able to capture The starting point of your gum line and teeth. I have attached a photo of what your impression should be like.
Please send us the photos of your second attempt, wait for our approval, and then send your kits to us, and don’t discard any impressions even if they are not perfect, because we ask you to return all of them.
Thank you, if you have any questions, please let me know.
Okay-so, we didn’t do a good job, but they guide us on how to get better results. Back to the molding process! The next day, we carried out another set of presentations and sent photos.

A few hours later, we got this reply.
Thank you for redoing your impression. Your first impression looks good, the only thing you need to change is to add more putty on the back so that we can capture your molars more deeply and completely. We can use these, but we only need to exclude the incompletely captured posterior molars. Don’t worry, the night watchman will still be protected! Does that work for you?
We did add more putty to the front and back as instructed, but we still didn’t get the perfect impression. However, it sounds like they can still make a usable guard, so we will give it a try. You only need to wear the upper protective cover or the lower protective cover, not both. Since she has always been wearing the upper guard, we indicated on the reply address card that we wanted two upper guards but no lower guards.
Returning the mold includes the following steps:
- Place the two molds in a padded envelope
- Sealed envelope
- Put that and the reply card in the original box
- Seal with the attached yellow sticker
- Pop-up return label
Next step-go to the post office! The mold will be sent out on 10/21. Now we wait.
Five days later, 10/26, we received the following message via email:
Thank you for being a member of the Remi tribe, we are very grateful! We received your completed impression kit from USPS today and will start processing your order soon. In light of COVID-19, we have taken additional precautions when processing all orders to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, including waiting for an additional few days to process the returned impression kits, and adding additional disinfection to our process step. This means that your order may take a week or so to process, but it will be completed and we will notify you as soon as it is shipped to you!
Thank you for your understanding, if you have any questions, please let me know.
sleep well
I was impressed by the timeliness and courtesy of Remi’s emails. So now, we wait again.
On 10/30, we received this email:
We have some exciting news-your customized Remi Night Guard has been created and is being sent to you. The tracking information is as follows. At the same time, if you have any needs, please feel free to contact us, we will be more than happy to help you.
Checking the tracking number included, I see:
The shipping label has been created and USPS is waiting for the item

Therefore, even with warnings about potential delays, the production process took only four days. They ship USPS, so we will see how long it takes from California to Florida.
The answer to this question is two days, because the tooth protector arrived by mail on November 1st. It took a total of 11 days from the delivery of the impression to the receipt of the custom protector. OK!what is this Safely Packed in a padded envelope.

- Nursing Guide Card
- thank you card
- Anti-bite device (we chose two uppers)
- Storage Box
Design and features
The protective cover is made of 1 mm thick BPA-free plastic. If you are a particularly hard grinder, you can request a thickness of 1.3 mm or 2 mm.
Let’s take a look at the guard itself.

Look at the two upper guards again.

In contrast, she has been using braces made by dentists for about five years.

That is the old guard on the left. Considering its five-year service life so far, it is quite thick and of course very durable. We think this old bodyguard spent about $400 and spent two to three visits to the dentist to complete the impression and adjust the fit. The disadvantage of the thickness of the old model is that it is not very comfortable to wear. She is used to it, but she can’t really talk to it on the spot, and it’s certainly not a joy to give her a goodnight kiss with the teether in place.
Now that the guards have arrived, it’s time to grab some Zzzzzs and see how things are going.
Performance
She is putting Remy in.

It fits very well. Remi’s braces are so thin and inconspicuous that once in, she barely notices. It feels quite durable, and we hope it will last. I don’t know it will last for five years, but since we chose two uppers, this kit should last for a while.
The card that comes with the guard is recommended to be placed within 30 minutes before going to bed so that you will hardly notice it when you go to bed. She can speak clearly, which is a huge change compared to speaking with old, thick braces. Moreover, the good night kiss is almost the same as when she did not wear the braces. great!
In the morning, she reported that she slept well without jaw pain. Remy’s guard was safe all night.
The information card is recommended to be rinsed and shaken/patted dry every morning, and cleaned with toothpaste or denture cleaning tablets once a week. She has been doing this for five years, and nothing has changed there.
We just started to experience Remy for a few days, and my wife was very happy. The guards don’t seem to have any wear or tear, so we hope they can continue to be used. OK!
what do I like
- comfortable to wear
- Perfect fit
- No need to go to the dentist
- Fast delivery
- Good communication throughout the process
What will i change
- The impression process requires some manipulation, but it is easier than going to the dentist
- Two sizes of impression trays may not be suitable for everyone
Final thoughts
Anti-bite devices are not cheap. It was US$400 five years ago, and it may now be close to US$500. This is a major investment in your dental health. Remi offers an amazing solution at a cost of 20% (from Amazon), and it seems to be a better product in terms of comfort and appearance. In fact, it is equipped with two guards, which makes it a better deal.
If you mess up during the molding process and the putty hardens on you, they will send more. If the guards are not for you at all, they will provide a 30-day money-back guarantee. Combined with their excellent communication, Remi provides an excellent customer experience.
If your daily molars involve dental problems while you sleep, check out Remi custom braces in the comfort of your home.
