review – I’ve been reviewing Roborock robot vacuums for a few years now and love them so much that I’ve been using them on the two main floors of my house.I have got Stone S5 Max in the basement and Stone S7 Max Since the floors are all luxurious vinyl planks, there is a mopping function on the main floor. I love the automatic emptying of the bins, but have been looking forward to the day when mopping gets better. That day is now the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum. Don’t spoil the surprise, but it’s awesome! Let’s take a closer look.
What is it?
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is actually a combination of an S7 MaxV and a charging base that empties the bin and cleans the mopping attachment after each cleaning and even during cleaning. You can also buy the S7 MaxV Robotic Holiday separately, or you can buy the S7 MaxV Plus, which is the S7 MaxV with an automatic empty base (the one without the mop cleaner).
If you’ve already purchased the Roborock S7 MaxV as a standalone robot vacuum, both bases are available for purchase.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra Design and Features
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra looks very similar to other Roborock vacuums I’ve used. It’s round, has a laser eye on top, and three control buttons for spot cleaning, power, and home/dock.
What makes the S7 MaxV Ultra different is the built-in camera. Yes, that’s right, this robot vacuum has a camera! You can use it to travel around your house to see what’s going on, or you can use it to chase your pets. It’s up to you 😉
If you’re not using the Empty Wash Fill Dock, the lid lifts up to give you access to the dirt bin, which lifts up for easy emptying.
The vacuum cleaner has a “brush” on the bottom, which doesn’t have bristles like some vacuum brushes. Its fins help keep pet hair from tangling. You can also see how the mop pad attaches to the bottom of the vacuum.
Roborock Empty Wash Fill Dock Design and Features
The Empty Wash Fill Dock (which I’ll call the dock from here on out) is bigger than other robotic vacuum docks I’ve reviewed, but that’s because this one has more features than every other robotic vacuum on the market today.
First, you can see that the dock has three jars. The canister on the far left is the dirty mop water, the canister in the middle is the fresh water used to clean the mop pad and fill the internal tank of the vacuum cleaner, and the canister on the right is the dirt tank.
The S7 MaxV has a removable water tank that you can fill manually, but if you use this base, you don’t need it as it fills automatically.
The jugs are lifted from the dock so you can fill and/or empty them. The pots have a handle so you can easily move them from place to place, and they also have a latch so you don’t accidentally spill water on your way in and out of the sink.
At the bottom of the dock base, there is a cleaning brush on the rails. The brush rolls back and forth under the S7 MaxV vacuum to scrub the attached mopping pad, keeping it clean after each vacuum.
On the back of the dock, you’ll find the power connector and power cord retainer.
Setting up the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra
As you can see in the photo above, the S7 MaxV Ultra vacuum cleaner and base combination is significantly larger than the S7 vacuum cleaner and base.
I have a Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra vacuum and base set up in our locker room. Setup is simple as the base is assembled. The only steps are to set up a vacuum on the base and plug it in for charging.
If you plan to mop with the S7 MaxV Ultra, you will also need to fill the cleaning bucket and attach the mopping pad to the bottom of the vacuum before cleaning for the first time.
Roborock app
You’ll also need the Roborock app on your phone or tablet. The app requires firmware updates and custom cleaning sessions. Customization includes selecting suction settings and scrubbing intensity settings for the mop.
After the vacuum cleaner has completed at least one cleaning, it displays a map of the cleaned area. You can then select rooms or areas for dedicated cleaning sessions, including restricted areas.
If you look at the first image above, you can see that the software recognizes furniture and even shoes as it cleans. I found AI to be very accurate.
Mapping is powerful. You can view 2D maps, 3D maps, and create matrix wireframe style maps.
3D maps are not created automatically, you need to walk around the house to capture each room with your phone. Looks cool, but I’m not sure why you want to view the map in this format.
Is the Roborock S7 MaxV the ultimate robot vacuum?
I absolutely love the Roborock S7 Max V Ultra. Even when I set it on the lowest part of the setting, it vacuumed dust, dust, etc., as well as other Roborocks vacuums.
I was even more impressed with the mopping function. I like that I don’t need to worry about it mopping the floor because it automatically lifts the mopping pad when it detects a rug.
The vacuum itself has an onboard water tank for keeping the mop pad moist while cleaning floors. The tank will eventually empty, and when it returns to the dock, the Ultra Dock will check the water level and refill the tank with clean water.
During the cleaning process, the vacuum will return to the dock halfway through (specifically, every 20 minutes in default mode) to wash the mop pads. This means that the same (dirty) mop will not be used to clean the entire space and spread the dirt.
You can choose to reduce or increase the frequency of mop cleaning. Instead of 20 minutes, you can choose 10 minutes or up to 50 minutes according to your preference.
Look at that dirty water! Pooh! So far, I’ve mopped the floor 3 times a week for a few weeks with the S7 MaxV vacuum and each time the water looks as dirty as the picture above. Here I think my house (floor) is clean! I like to wash the mop pads every 20 minutes by default, as well as at the end and beginning of each cleaning cycle.

Don’t forget it also has a mobile camera
If you recall, the S7 MaxV has a built-in camera. With the Roborock app, you can use the on-screen joystick to move the vacuum around your home and watch live view through the camera as it operates. You can even speak in a vacuum. This could be a fun feature to watch and talk to your pets remotely when you’re not home. Note that every few seconds the S7 MaxV announces that remote viewing is enabled, so it is not incognito viewing.

final thoughts
If you can afford the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do. It’s almost perfect. If the litter box doesn’t require disposable bags, it’s probably the only way to be better (besides cheaper).
