If you haven’t noticed, for most people, we will usher in a three-day weekend: Labor Day Weekend in 2021. Come down and adapt to fall. Oops, even those whose children have already started classes will take time for mini vacations and take a few days off.
Well, if you happen to have not been vaccinated, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky will say… Not so fast.
From New York Post:
The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Rochelle Walensky, said at a White House briefing on Tuesday that Americans who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and are paying attention to travel plans this Labor Day weekend should reconsider.
In general, health agencies recommend postponing travel until fully vaccinated, defined as two weeks after the second vaccination, or two weeks after the single injection developed by Johnson & Johnson.
“First of all, if you are not vaccinated, we recommend that you do not travel,” Varensky said in the virtual briefing.
“…Despite considering that we are currently in a position where the disease is spreading, people who are fully vaccinated and wearing masks can travel, and we would say that people need to take these risks into account when thinking about travel,” she said.
Yes, good luck to you. The whole world is still shocked by the collapse of Afghanistan and the epic lies and disintegration from within the Biden administration. Just because this cabinet wants to try to get back to COVID and vaccines does not mean that the American people will follow them.
The Americans have not forgotten the faithful service dogs who were left to suffer and die. We do not know how many Americans and Afghan allies there are. As far as these animals are concerned, my colleague Scott Hounsell Report We have a CDC ban to thank for the delays that prevented these dogs from getting out safely.
According to SPCA International, the CDC’s ban on importing animals from certain countries is the main obstacle to the withdrawal of animals from Afghanistan. The ban was implemented earlier this year due to an increase in the number of fraudulent rabies certificates submitted in import requests from more than 100 countries.
Leave it to the CDC. Good job, Dr. Varensky.
In the category “CDC needs to pay more attention to their own business” category, Dr. Wallensky was involved in gun issues last week Violence Control, and talked about how heartbreaking it is to watch children in Chicago die shot. There is no mention of government-influenced causality that contributes to this violence, such as the loose DA that failed to enforce the law, and the current push for funding the police.
My colleague Jerry Wilson Report When Dr. Walensky got involved in gun activism, he made this point:
The biggest problem with Varensky joining this dispute is that she has won a fundamental distrust in areas where partisan governments are not allowed to exceed their powers. She already Can’t tell her story straightforwardly About COVID.Valensky provided zero evidence that she would not turn the issue of national interest into Channels of Family Economic BenefitsThese are not signs of someone who is capable of negotiating in the crazy waters of this country involving guns.
Dr. Wallensky seems to take clues from whatever the Biden administration wants, rather than by looking at actual data or science and drawing scientific conclusions. As my colleague Kate Paul Dillon disclose After Dr. Walensky’s last press conference, this excellent dogma didn’t seem to bother to read and analyze any data currently within reach before spitting out a statement from her mouth. Dr. Varensky did a good job. Actual research? Not that much.
Dr. Varensky never showed her work, did not cite any sources, and asked reporters to investigate her claims. Obviously, very few people do this, and even so, AP can only find a small study without peer review, and they believe that the changes in these guidelines can be based on these studies. In the words of authority figures, facing overwhelming evidence to the contrary without clear evidence to the contrary is not science. It is faith.
This is not the first time that the CDC director has arbitrarily made a wide range of moral comments without providing any evidence, and this is hardly the first time that the press does not ask for such data at all.
Dr. Walensky also has a husband, and he doesn’t pay much attention to his wife’s statement (see Scott Hounsell’s article here), he is also a doctor. So why should anyone care about another obvious demonization of unvaccinated people and try to further establish a caste system for them? At this point, all of us are tired of lies, hypocrisy and double standards, whether related to COVID or Afghanistan.
Therefore, it can be said that most Americans-not vaccinated or otherwise-may treat this statement just as Biden treated the Americans, Afghans and service dogs he left behind.
Dr. Wallensky can talk to us. When you are doing it, go lower and wrinkle.
Unlike our citizens and allies, these caste-making fearmongers should be like this.
