German Chancellor Merkel stated on Thursday (November 25) that if the situation in eastern Ukraine and surrounding areas or the Belarus-Poland border escalates, the EU must be prepared to impose more sanctions on Russia.
The outgoing German Chancellor stated at a joint press conference held in Berlin and Polish Prime Minister Matteus Morawiecki that the EU must “weaponize” Polish immigrants in Belarus and Russia on its border with Ukraine. Unite on issues such as deploying troops nearby.
The European Union and NATO expressed concern about Russia’s increased military presence in Ukraine and its surrounding areas.
In return, Moscow accused the U.S., NATO, and Ukraine of provocative and irresponsible behavior, pointing out that the U.S. supplies Ukraine with weapons, Ukraine uses Turkish drones to attack Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, and NATO conducts military exercises near its borders. . .

Ukraine wants to join NATO to ensure that attacks on its territory will not only trigger sanctions, but also a military response.
Later, she had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Waldomir Zelensky. His office said the two have agreed that a coordinated response to the “threat” from Russia is needed.
After the tension between Kiev and Moscow lasted for several weeks, Russia and Ukraine both held military exercises this week, while thousands of migrants from the Middle East and other hotspots were trapped on the eastern border of the EU. Poland has deployed troops and police at the border to prevent immigrant groups from crossing the border from Belarus.
